    Blizzard taking down Mei merchandise

Blizzard are starting to take down all Mei merchandise as she is in association with the protest happening in Hong Kong.

As an example, the new Mei statue can't even be pre-ordered anymore. The link now redirects you to other merchandise. Clearly Blizzard makes decisions without China in mind right? She is becoming the new Winnie The Pooh.

I couldn't believe it either. They really did remove the statue from existence. You can't even find it anywhere to look at.

Looks like it have the desired effect people wanted. Sad part is that Mei as a character till take a hit due to the debacle. I quite enjoyed her in OW.

    R.I.P Mei.

Guess we know who wont make it to OW 2 :^)

    Hope this helps.

Funko Pop Mei is still there. Snowball figurine is still there, multiple stuff featuring Mei.

Could it be, that the statue is sold out?

I think you might be jumping to conclusions, apparently the Lucio statue is also missing from the store at the moment. From the thread I linked above it appears Blizzard switched distribution platforms, and some stuff isn't on the new platform yet.

There is absolutely no way this could be the case, it's clear that mei has been put into reeducation camp by personal order of Xi Jinping

If you ignore most things and focus on one small thing you can spin things however you want it. You should try it

Yeah, I think people are buying plenty of Mei merch due to the fact she has become a symbol. It's ironic how people try to damage blizzard by doing so through giving them more money. *shrug*

Just end this bloody thread, they aren't removing it, it's literally just sold out of the product.

Funko pop Mei is a representation of Mei but it is not Mei in her context. Its the same legal reasons why people are able to sell shirts of the artwork of Blizzard owned characters. As long as the material is different from the source material it is within a person's legal rights to sell Mei. Unless someone can find a shirt that has her exact likeness on it to prove me wrong.

But both are sold on the official Blizzard Merch store, making the claim the statue was pulled because of Honkong a bit absurd. If so, why does Funko and other stuff remain?
Looks more like the statue is currently just sold out. Not taken down.

Paranoid nonsense like this doesn't help but hurt the whole the story and cause, so just don't.

    I just explained why?...

Reading comprehension, please? Funko pop Mei is not Mei on a legal subtext. It does not represent the character.
