Seems legit, isn't he supposed to kill us all, and thus our journey to the shadowlands begins?

I agree I am a fan when it comes to old gods stuff and titans for sure. I am pretty sad that it will be the end for N'zoth.. I mean all these build up years ever since he was introduced in the Cataclysm...now he will die like this? I would prefer he gets his own expansion like we fight him now at the end of BfA and he actually win and the world become his empire and then next expansion entirely will be about old gods stuff.

The issues with Deathwing were that the first fight was gimmicky and the second one was fairly buggy when it came out.

Other than that, they're two completely different encounters against two completely different looking creatures who just happen to have the same name.

It's still possible he could die in N'zoths fight.

They certainly could, but what a waste of a character. There was 0 build up to this fight, and he'd just be gone. Seeing him in the raid makes me think he will be cleansed and somehow lead into the rumored Dragon Isles expansion.

Agreed, not having an old god themed expansion seems silly to me. A lot of people find the old god lore pretty interesting and could definitely carry an expansion. Using it in a patch at the end of a mediocre expansion, meh.

Hopefully, even if N'Zoth perishes, this will be a 'clean slate' for the Void to send another eldritch abomination attack against Azeroth. Maybe even give us a crop of 'new' Old Gods, or call the Old Gods from other worlds across the cosmos to swarm to Azeroth.
