Can I learn 2 handed axes? Everywhere says I can, but trainer doesn't offer it, so I assume all the info is wrong.

Yes you can, it's a talent in the enh tree.

Two-handed maces and axes are part of the Enhancement talent tree. Tier 3 specifically.
