Imagine saying someone is defending DH when there’s nothing about defending it anywhere... what am I defending? Not sure what there was to defend lol.
Just saying why other classes are more populous. Imagine a class that’s been around for 15 years being more popular than a class that’s been around for 3
*checks if I'm in the lore section*
ok good
Who fucking cares as long as the class performs well?

I just want the Sonic OC class
If I can't play as Darkedgebloodsword with his flaming katana that eats souls what's the point anymore?
I feel like "edgy" is a term only edgy people would use... maybe I'm just old.
I'd rather play as the Gnome honestly. Looks far more interesting than running around as a dead elf in a bikini.
Also I'm not surprised there's more fanart for the half-naked Dark Rangers than a machine based Tinker. Porn is always more popular than everything else.
bard = cringey, unfunny meme shit that everyone who plays dnd for 5min chooses and acts like they're the funniest shit ever when all they actually do is shit up every person's session with their lame humor.

not everyone is a cumbrain(i mean, i kinda am, but not in wow)
i want to play dark ranger/necromancer because i like necromancy. i like undead things.
Popularity is fleeting. DKs were popular once, and now they're sinking fast. Once the shine wears off on Demon Hunters, they'll be following suit. The most popular classes are Palladins, Druids, and Hunters. None of them are edgy, and none of them are based on one-off gimmicks.
In the end, its better to base a class on sound and interesting concepts. A class based on hot undead elves and Hunter gameplay is not a recipe for long term success.
lol, the models spark many imaginings, but i take all that to the internet.
none of my characters in wow actually use any slutmog(my warlock kinda did at one point, but it was less about the sexy and more about how cool she looked with this red and black set i made. you can see it in the warlock transmog thread.)
Shadow's had the cultist/lovecraft vibe from the very beginning.
Mechanically, though, it used to be a support spec that restored health and mana to the group by doing damage. Retail Shadow has been removed from this context for years, and it's been suffering an identity crisis as a result.

You "pls no edgy classes" people are the worst and here is the reason why.
Whenever people asked for them, you discredited them for not being "relevant" to a said expansion. Now that the lore/themes are pointing towards an "edgy class", you simply claim you had enough of "edge" when clearly relevant themes are underpresented.
You had your way with Monk and it turned out to be the least played class by evidence, regardless of what people in denial might think.
Let's assume we get a Death themed expansion with an ongoing branching plot of Dragons. Will you be happy if you ruin the theme package with a clown class like Bard or Tinker?
In conclusion, if Blizz decides to do a curveball expansion and throw the story out of the window, what can I say - enjoy your lighthearted class. But if a serious expansion happens and your demand brings a silly class just because you claim that you had enough of "edgy classes", an opportunity for countless others will be wasted due to your vocal persistence.
Plot twist: the Bard class only sings death metal.

By edgy I guess you mean with anything related to death/darkness and/or variations of it?
Death Knight: death theme overall, but the 3 specs differ vastly from one another.
Priest: 1 edgy spec. The other two are on par with Paladin in terms of non-edginess.
Warlock: Demo - in its current iteration, the only spec in the game that revolves around summoning (don't think it fits the category); Aff - The edgiest of the 3 specs; Destro - I don't really see it as edgy, more as a pyromaniac that wants to set the world on fire, really.
DH: is it really edgy? IMO Illidan was meant to be edgy, and since he's the first figure you associate with the class I'm not sure it counts.
All of this is a matter of opinion anyway.
-edit-
You know what would be edgy, though? A Blood themed spec that hurts itself to casts skills or something.
