You're still making a bigger deal about her abstaining than about the 11 that actually stood up and denied the genocide.

    For the record:
    https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/116-2019/h591

These are the 11 "Nay" voters

    Rogers, Mike
    Baird, James
    Brooks, Susan
    Pence, Greg

    Bucshon, Larry
    Harris, Andy
    Foxx, Virginia
    Meadows, Mark

    Cole, Tom
    Brady, Kevin
    Thornberry, Mac

I, for one, am far more interested in how these 11 justify their votes than I am in Omar not casting one.

Why? They have recognized the genocide for a long time now.

Mostly just because they actually named their show after this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Turks
The political group that got to power and actually carried out the genocide.

Its like if you named your news group Hitler jugend.
    Whether that group would then "acknowlege" genocide/the holocaust or not doesnt really matter;
I find that its still highly amusing either way.

It's interesting you call out Omar for voting "present", which is essentially abstaining, while staying silent about the 11 Republicans that actually voted against recognition of the Armenian Genocide. I've noticed that Fox news has also picked up on that same strategy.
The other 11 republicans are in the wrong. There are you happy, can we finally say that Omar is denying the genocide???

You can say all kinds of things that are wrong, if being wrong is a point of pride for you.

Since she obviously isn't, no. We can't. Not without lying, at least.

I assume they're worried about appearances with specific people, but it's at the cost of their reputation with everyone else. I'm not in their shoes, but I don't think it may have been worth it. Then again, this may be swept under the rug and forgotten.

    Put it this way:

400+ people in a room voting on what to do tonight

400 of them vote to watch television

    1 person doesn't vote

11 people vote to fuck everyone else using switchblades

    You focus on the person that didn't vote...because she's shifty a non-white Democrat who's also a Muslim....
    Fixed that for you

Why are we mad at Turkey again? Because idiotic lawmakers in Washington like to pretend the SDF and PKK are two different things?

Plus 13 who didn't vote at all.

This fixation on Omar is fuckin weird, yo. Fox ran the same narrative in their story that also conveniently forgot to mention that others voted present, against, or not at all.

Don't "we" have plenty of weird fixations on plenty of other politicians, talk show hosts, etc?

If we want to play this game I believe Cenk Uygur still considered him a Republican when he made the statements. 1991 and 99 he wrote opinion pieces not recognizing the genocide. He didn't leave the Republican party around the 2000's.

Now he can be criticized, but I have a feeling most attacking him are hating his liberal/progressive views now. Not knowing he was once a conservative when he stated it. Now does him being a conservative when he stated about the Armenian Genocide a slant on Repulbicans? Likely not but as I said, it seems attack more on Liberals and Progressives who bring this up.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

This isn't remotely the first time people have straight-up lied about Omar's explicitly stated position in a bullshit attempt at a "gotcha" moment. See also the claims that she's "anti-semitic", for instance.

You can take your pick as to why right-wingers have such a bug up their butts about her, specifically. But the arguments they actually level against her pretty much never actually hold any water.

What about the 11 Republicans that voted against it?

Are they like, even worse than Omar?

    They sure are bad too.

What are their names? Do they have history of shitty things like "some people did something" or antisemitism like Omar ?

If yes, I'd like to see your source for that, since I am not very knowledgeable on the matter
