#1 Hype-Thread Shitposter - Overlord of the Hypethread
Predictions:
Allied races:
- Allied races reworked to be customization options in Char creation screen, to bring down the clutter. So if you select Human you can choose Kul'Tiran or Stormwind Humans
- Allied races armor changed to quests lines instead of lvling achievement. people with the achievement get a special title like: X of the Kul'Tiran
- All requirements for allied races are also removed to encourage new players to come back to finally play as Dark Iron Dwarf or whatever (see special title part for the people that have done it the traditional way)
Classes:
- Tinker class to be added - tank / healer / dps. Based upon the tinkers we see in island expeditions
- Heritage armor for the remaining races is almost finished (Night Elf / Troll is coming in 9.0) rest is being shown with incomplete renders (all races) and will be added as soon as they are finished with them. (expectation: all heritage armor is in the game before 9.2)
- Dark Ranger is becoming a talent specialization for hunters, they tried to build a full class out of it and came to the conclusion it fits better as a hunter spec and so hunters are getting a 4th specialization.
Leveling / Gear:
- Level squish back to 60, leveling up to 70
- All gear from earlier expansions is being changed to being cosmetic only and lose all stats (same with the now: legacy tier set bonuses)
- Old content is being changed to no longer need bigger groups. (Includes all prior expansion content / same with encounters like Odyn in ToV are changed to be solo-able)
- Talents have been reworked to be similar accross the row they are in. (movement with movement stuff / aoe stuff with aoe stuff. balance within the options is a lot better aswell)
- 3 passive talent rows: x ability has chance to do X dmg / cooldown resets from crits etc.
- 2 active talent rows: Dragon Roar or Bladestorm or other activate talents
- 1 movement row: based upon movement traits we saw from the HoA
- 1 role row: 3 different talents to suit certain situations: think spell damage reduction as tank or more towards melee heavy damage. depends on class
- Every 10 levels is 1 new talent. (7 talents @ 70 / like we have now on 120)
''New Heart of Azeroth'':
- New system like HoA / Artifacts but with more of a "''awesome factor'' the neck is just too boring and so is the farming / gains from it. so they rework that in something better
- Similar decay system coming for catching up and also to keep people willing to play alts / start playing alts.
Mythic Plus:
- M+ affixes: Fortified / Tyrannical are staying however M+ 2 and higher get 2 new affixes. WiP, will be a more info coming before launch.
- Other ''minor'' affixes get truly random. there is no website anymore like affixes.com to check the rotation of next week. to promote more M+ activity instead of the weekly cache run and we will farm the shit out of volcanic / sanguine next week
- Season specific affixes will be more trivial than the: cloak and skip ones we have seen during BFA.
- Arena rating adapted to work for M+ / removing the need for Raider.io stuff (Openraid vs Group Finder who did win there?)
- M+ season related titles, think Arena titles but coming from M+
- Upon starting the M+ timer the following things get locked: talents / group composition, the last one to prevent toxic and bad behavior. (according to Blizzard they had a lot of reports hence the change)
Overall QoL improvements:
- Unlocks in terms of reputations / rewards from them: account wide
- Reaching the new level cap will unlock all flightpaths / hubs like we currently can do with the 7th Legion or Honorbound map
- Heirlooms are no longer upgradeable, they are just scaling items with the new contents lvl cap till 3 months after. (so 3 months into new xpac they get activated)
- Proffession changes: rank 3 recipes are taught via a questline that opens up as soon as you have all recipes at lvl 2. (which are reputation based)
It probably is way more of a wishlist than predictions, but hey i gave it a shot.
I thought the loyalist ending made it rather clear the faction war was a manipulation to feed Death, and she planned on disposing The Horde eventually, simply Saurfangs "ill fated challenge" caused her to abandon it sooner than she anticipated. Plaguing thunderbluff too early would result in the same.
It became clear that it wasn’t realistic to try to get the audience back to being more hardcore, as it had been in the past. -- Tom Chilton
