7-Year-Old Girl in 'Critical Condition' After Being Shot While Trick-or-Treating

    https://time.com/5715953/girl-shot-c...k-or-treating/

A 7-year-old girl out trick-or-treating in a bumblebee costume was critically injured Thursday night after being struck by apparent stray gunfire, police said.

The girl, who was shot in the upper chest area, was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, according to Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. A 30-year-old man was shot in the left hand and taken to a nearby hospital in good condition.

The shooting occurred early Halloween evening as the girl was walking with her family and other trick-or-treaters along a street in the Little Village neighborhood.

The city. Take away the top ten cities in the US in crime rate and the violent death/crime rate, drops dramatically.

Horrible thing for the parent's to go thru. Hope she recovers.

Well shit, bet you it wasn't in a Country with proper gun control. Sucks either way though.

Remember that Sheriff how went around town putting up signs at the homes of sex offenders to ward off Trick or Treaters? Well its time the police force gun owners to put of signs on their homes, signs warning kids, innocent bystanders, first responders etc that there's a chance they might get shot if they knock on the door.

Of course. Let's blame cities, race, ethnicity, political alignment, mental health, Obama, the weather, full moon whatever. Just never the guns and American gun culture.

Have you ever considered why cities see higher crime rates? Have you?

Give it a shot. Tell me, why you think cities have higher crime rates?

She wasn't shot by knocking on a door though...

It clearly states that she was hit by stray gunfire while out trick or treating. Not that a person shot her after opening the door.

It was most likely a gang related incident and she got hit by a stray bullet. She wasnt shot by some boomer that had kids walk on his lawn and he finally had enough. Taking their ball away just wasnt working.

Yeah dude it's not like there's a massive gang problem in that city. It's american "gun culture"

The people who legally possess firearms aren't doing this stuff though. The majority of the deaths are from handguns in the hands of people who shouldn't have one, in cities administered by Democrats with some of the toughest gun laws in the United States. They are hardly ever committed by the people you hate the most; ethnically white, Republican, employed and enrolled in the NRA.

Its minority Democrats killing minority Democrats with handguns while screaming at middle American to surrender their long guns.

Yes, because we all know that these firearms were never legally sold to legal owners. They get made at Smith & Wesson's illegal guns factory, an entirely distinct facility from their legal guns factories, then sold in bulk to illegal wholesalers, who in turn sell them to the street dealers who sell directly to the criminals.

Certainly the legitimate gun shops in neighbouring states with gun laws looser than yo mama have nothing at all to do with anything.

So are you claiming Gun shops will sell guns easily traceable back to themselves without doing the mandatory background check, just to close a sale on a crappy $200 Hi-Point pistol to some out of town gang banger?

No, they happily sell to straw purchasers, who then sell to the out of towners.

And your sorry excuse for police are too busy playing highway robbery to be bothered with dealing with those straw purchasers.
