It's meant to be light hearted, if you were looking for something serious you were setting yourself up for disappointment.
Also seeing how badly people seem to fuck up defile on Arthas and the spawns on Ragnaros be very thankful you only have to endure a small portion of those fights.
I mean dat rep and exp bonus though... I love this event. Only better one was the molten core one
And this one might still be better cuz old av
there is no way they would have had a limited time anniversary mount linked to a difficult encounter,it is silly you would have even expected that,if you want a challenge feel free to do 25+ myths or try to complete the raid in its first weeks of release, but if you like mounts you rly should do it,the deathwing mount looks rly good,as drake mounts go its proly the best looking
I wouldn't mind it that much if Alliance could fucking stop sucking in AV. All battles I've joined, my team is either already getting farmed in our base, or half the team is just running around in our mine in the north doing nothing, so it's impossible to get anything done as Alliance. Can't even manage to do the quest to kill Korrag a single time. Horde always gets there first, and they have much better players so it's just impossible unless you're lucky and get a godmode group.
I think it's because there's a quest to get supplies in the mine that rewards timewarped badges, and you need badges from AV quests to get the mount...it's stupid that WINNING awards no mount progress/badges.
In regard to the OP, yeah, it's super underwhelming. I was kind of shocked when Heigan suddenly faded out after like 30 seconds of fighting, and that was it. We're already being ported straight to a particular boss in a raid - it's not like this was going to be particularly time-intensive. You can't even sink your teeth into the fight. All I was expecting was a bit of fun, and I was just left confused and, I guess, let down. Is it too much now even to expect a nerfed boss fight to last for the entirety of its healthpool? Ah well. Maybe the frenetic pacing of the raid encounters is meant to serve as a counterpoint to the other event on offer - 'Old' (and potentially very LONG) AV?

I am not gonna lie, when I zoned in to the first boss (Cho'gall) was a bit surprised to see he was at 40%.... but getting ported out when he hit 10% was equally surprising. Rag was annoying, took a few attempts to down him. the 15% exp/rep boost is nice though, and it is also good that I finally get to finish off farming xmog off those blasted dragons of nightmare and have plenty of time to do so.

oh MC took my group ages.... like 3-4 hours
All those fights, if done scaled down to the relevant levels would've been horrid to even look at in pugs. Some of them were oh so painful when they were relevant. Anniversary events are never super exciting. Hell, I don't remember many events in WoW that were like, interesting minus the scourge invasion and even then, you got your stuff and got out. Always expect less than you're dreaming of... this is blizz after all.
Really weird balancing. 20 minutes of LFR for PvE mount, meanwhile PvP mount gonna take hours at this rate.
Thanks. I'm a little surprised the anniversary event is so exclusionary. I would've thought the raids would offer scaling so more people could participate, but maybe it's a marketing ploy to sell more copies of BfA? It's also weird that it's a Deathwing mount, that seems better saved for next year which would be the 10 year anniversary of Cata.

Because they chose iconic fights for raiders instead of tourists like you. How many people I keep seeing asking why Heigan is in instead of Kelthuzad....lol

Don't know why you thought you'd get any of that form LFR
Honestly, I don't think it was bad. Was to some type of end game? No. Was it kind of fun for an event? Yes. I thought the LK part was the best, porting into the Lich King and him dropping defile on the group and everyone not remembering, the fact that it spread so fast and wiped the group was kind of a walk up call for all of us who did the fight back in the day. I thought that was pretty cool, nothing to crazy, yet cool. Also I got a crazy TF piece of gear on my DK and it was an upgrade, something I thought I was done getting for now, so hard to complain about that xD
