Just because you keep denying that Garrisons were Housing doesn't mean a thing. They directly came out and said that it was a bad concept of have everyone be in single player instances instead of in a city, housing would make this worse, and not only for one expansion, presumably for ever, since people would expect to keep their houses.

A new feature which has the potential of a permanent impact on the world and player behavior has a lot of potential to go wrong, as such, its dead.

They were a form of housing but not the kind of player housing that people wanted, and it lacked many things people wanted from housing, which is why people still want actual housing and will continue to ask for it.

It's nice you disagree, but don't quibble on what exact wording means... debate my point that we believe the game is in [choose the one of your liking]:

    • "Reduced Production"
    • "Limited Development"
    • "Truncated designed"
    • "Minimized Generation"
    • "Low-Priority Assembly"
    • "Condensed Origination"
    • "Abridged Formulation"
    • "Shortened Construction"
    • "Abbreviated Content"
    • "Economized Direction"
    • "Lessened Manufactured"

You're also wrong in calling it a "full" 2-year expansion, as clearly a great many accurately disagree with your assertion of that by its mere absence of new race/class/number of zones/ect.

    - Cross-faction gameplay: While I never expected them to fully go away with factions and their tensions, this would be the perfect time to make this happen;
    - Housing: long, long overdue. I'm under the impression that blizzard already can do this, but is saving the feature as a panic button for when WoW is truly fading. (edit: inb4 someone "Garrison was WoW housing")
    - New class: Well, honestly I was on the hypetrain for a possible Tinker, but hey;

These things in particular are pretty big to not warrant a Blizzcon announcement, so I don't think they are happening anyways for Shadowlands... On the other side, I'm also thinking if we can expect any - major - selling point to be unveiled until beta.
Honestly, seems like the things you were hoping for were pretty unrealistic expectations.

Cross faction is probably never going to happen.

Player housing likely is never going to happen. As Blizzard has stated before on this topic, they don't want the game to turn into this environment where everyone is just in their houses all the time and no one is in the cities anymore. If you add houses, then people will want them to serve a purpose, that purpose is usually crafting benches, stuff like that. This takes people away from cities, which makes cities feel much less populated.

New class: It probably should have happened, but a tinker had absolutely zero reason to be introduced in this expansion. It was either going to be a necromancer or a dark ranger. However, take solace in the fact that we will almost certainly see a new class next expansion as a result, and necromancer and possibly dark ranger both just lost their only opportunity to be thematically introduced to WoW for the next 5 years or so, but we might see a tech-themed expansion before then.

The ONLY HOPE I have right now is talent/class revamps, and this is questionable. Right now classes are in an awful place, but blizzard said they don't want to shake things up like they did in Legion/BFA/whatever, so are they happy with how classes are?

They need to do a rework but at the same time people are congratulating them for making no changes despite the fact that the classes all play terribly right now. If they don't make any changes we're just getting the same classes back that we had in BFA, that doesn't make any sense to me. Did people like the classes in BFA?

But it was. You owned a plot of land, earned achievements are shown through customizable plots, and you could choose want buildings you wanted.

Yeah, it wasn’t as in depth as eso or ff14 player housing but not calling player housing won’t do any justice.

Son, that's nice you think naming conventions somehow change the lack of what they're providing - the point I'm making is that they're NEVER doing a Legion/Wrath/Pandaria sized expansion ever again. You can attach whatever name you like, my point still stands. And you know what? other's actually also agree with me.
Well grandpa, if you want to sound dumb because it's too hard to look up what a term actually means, feel free. But whenever I see you using "maintenance mode" in a completely dumbass way I will continue to point it out. You are clearly a lost cause but others may not be. If I can save one person from sharing in your ignorance of software development it will be worth it.

He's already specifically been informed in other threads that he is using an established term completely incorrectly. He just wants to be inflammatory.

I think they had to cut a new class, which was going to be either dark rangers or tinkers due to how much they were built up in bfa, but then bfa sucked so hard they had to divert resources from shadowlands to try and patch bfa along. They had to do massive cuts in shadowlands and push the latest release date out way past the expected august one.

Vulpera was like final nail to coffin.

Also don't think it's not already in game, you can queue cross faction to BGs. So its kinda stupid you can't do that in PVE.
Lol imagine thinking a furry race is a major factor on faction balance. It would be pretty pathetic if people honestly switched races to vulpera when we haven't even seen Vulpera really do anything lore wise besides getting killed and asking us for help.

It does all just seem recycled, I was so disappointed and confused after the features trailer. Usually I preorder right after an expac reveal... Not this time!

Well you say "furry" but thats a perspective someone intoxicated with too much inappropriate porn. Reality is majority people will simply think them as "cute".

Rofl, "just patch in a new class."

I love our current classes! Feels like 36 classes. =P If it were up to me, we would have gotten FOUR new classes! Necromancer, Dark Ranger, Bard, and Tinker! The more the better! Prune the shit out of everything to give us 16 classes, and increase the number of specs with new specs as well! My thirst for variety cannot be quenched!

I bet if you went back 2 years, you'd see posts saying this:

Blizzard should hire some of the commenters on MMO-C as they write some of the best headcanon fiction around.
