    Elephant in the room

Ok, so far we have Sylvanas Sue kicking Bolvar's ass, Baine preparing to get married to the boiking, Calia giving soothing speeches to those poor bonebags, with Tyrande and Malfie being MIA, as is Aszhara. Tentacle Boi is selling some pretty potent psychedelic !@#$ that makes you see eldritch horrors while covering the sky in a purple hue.

Which is par for the course, I guess... But what about that lil' sword in Silithus? Yes, the very toothpick that started the whole Azerite mess and has gravely, if not fatally, hurt the planet. It looks like everyone in Azeroth has forgotten about it, except Magni and maybe Hamuul. Is that kamehameha that kills/banishes N'zoth supposed to take care of Sargie's sword as well, or something? Or will it just go unnoticed by the general story, in true Blizzard fashion?

Does anyone know something about it? What do you think it's going to happen?

It will probably be forgotten. Just like the damage wrought by the Catalcysm.

The massive titan sword will most likely be staying, or broken apart by the greed.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

Didn't we kind of like purge or heal all the corruption by draining our artifacts? At this point the damage is done but the corruption has been stopped. Removing the sword would likely not really do anything but leave a big hole.

Random reach: Azeroth is going to come to life at some point and pull the sword out of herself and wreck shit. She'll stab through reality and pierce he voidlords in a most magnificent deus ex machina.

The sword is just a chunk of unknown material, it's harmless and it isn't even botching the planet's orbit.

If we restore Azeroth's health, she'll be fine, even with that blade sticking out, and MOTHER, Magni and the Titanforged are working on it.

Well Tentacle Boi could still go and grab the guard or the hilt and pull it deeper as his final f. u. moment to foil our plans to save Azeroth. But seeing the next destination is already announced I guess he will not get to do that.

Our Artifacts were used to siphon the corrupting forces/poison of Gorribal out of the weapon. The giant sword is inert (even though it looks insanely active for a dead sword) but plugging the wound that would likely be gushing out azeroth's blood if we removed it.

Azeroth is still bleeding though, so they still haven't really explained wtf we're doing to stop it.

Going by real life it will take atleast 40 years to get the sword safely removed without causing the titan to die....assuming they have a way to remove a GIANT SWORD TALLER THEN MANY MOUNTAINS in the first place. Keep in mind that lore wise they have to heal the planet as they remove the sword or risk another Well of Eternity springing up in the middle of some rather nasty bugs that like to serve old gods.

What are we supposed to do? Pull it out? Blow it up? Throw a blanket over it? Build a little fence around it?

Azeroth may bleed to death if we remove it.

Azeroth was stated to be dying in the start of BfA by slowly bleeding out due to the sword of Sargeras, which is why we got the Heart of Azeroth in the first place. That entire plot thread was left forgotten by the time we got to Nazjatar, where Azshara was all "FOOLS! The Dwarf was tricked THIS WHOLE TIME!" and N'Zoth was released. The Heart is then used in 8.3 for stuff, and they mention it for how we get to the Shadowlands originally.

The sword, as well as the Heart's original purpose, will not be dealt with again until they want it to. It will likely be left there as a plot device in the future, like Bolvar was from WotLK to Shadowlands. Same with Sargeras, Illidan, and the Pantheon floating around on their throne-spaceship-temple-realm. Azerite is probably still spilling out everywhere, but we have a hole in the sky to get to, so the sword will have to wait until another day.
3 hints to surviving MMO-C forums:
1.) If you have an opinion, someone will say that it is wrong
2.) If you have a source, there will be people who refuse to believe it
3.) If you use logic, it will be largely ignored

Leaving your house on fire because your neighbor's refrigerator door is ajar and needs to be closed. So, typical Blizzard storyboarding?

A void lord appears and pulls it out laughing "haha, did you forget about us?!"
Then fiddles with the new hole made in azeroth.

Honestly, they'll probably just have us do what we did with the weapons. OH YOUR HEART IS SO STRONG THE SWORD IS HEALED! New expac.

They gotta retcon the heart somehow, I imagine it'll be the beam hitting n'zoth/fixing the wound.

Forgotten in all of Blizz flailing around trying to find a theme for BfA. Is it MoP 2.0? Is it N'zoth? Is it Azshara? Is it Adventures in Non-toxic Masculinity? Is it setting up the complete and utter defilement of everything even remotely related to death? Who knows! The clumsiness of the writing would make the proverbial china shop bull look like a ballerina.

It's more like your neighbor is stabbed, but the guy who stabbed her is now in prison, but the knife is still in her. Another guy sets fire to the neighborhood, and we're like "oh crap we gotta beat him up" - but we look at the neighbor, who's bleeding out and shrug saying "eh, it's not like the knife is going anywhere." And then we proceed to blast the pyromaniac with a laser.

So, yeah, typical Blizzard writing. They continue to leave people, good or bad, for later (Lich King, Sargeras, Illidan, Azshara, Sylvanas - and for a long time N'Zoth), but it doesn't really fit the narrative a whole lot anymore. Like, we have a sword in our planet, that's how this stuff first started. Let's go full circle and take care of that, maybe.

But, in the end, Blizzard wouldn't redo Silithus again, and it's a slight plot thread for another day. Maybe someone will start mining the sword, or maybe pulling it out will release all kinds of more hell onto the surface of Azeroth. Or, they completely forgot about how this entire expansion started.

We'll go through Shadowlands ignoring it because stuff. Then in 9.2.5 someone will remember its there because someone will do something horrible/hilarious with it. That's as far as I can think.
