Hawkeye is the same way. Is it because of obvious reasons why you hate her?
"You know you that bitch when you cause all this conversation."
Like I said, I don't know anything about the character other than seeing him in the fighting game. He's got a bow in that, and googling "taskmaster bow" brings back plenty of results...so...why not.

IIRC his superpower is that he can duplicate instantly any technique he sees. He doesn't have anything like superstrength or whatever, so he can't duplicate the Hulk, or Thor, but anything an olympic-level athlete is capable of, he can do after only seeing it once. A perfect badguy for Black Widow/Hawkeye level powers.
Maybe he sees Hawkeye shoot some things earlier in the movie, and picks up the ability? Not enough to go on just by the trailer.

General consensus seems meh. I'm not big into spy movies either. Never seen a James Bond movie other than Casino Royale in my life, never saw a single Mission Impossible, either. This is definitely a Red Box for me. It just seems tacked on. It won't connect to anything relevant to the present of the MCU. It's awkwardly placed in the timeline like something they could produce for 2020 because they weren't ready at the time to produce any of the more important titles, but still wanted to put out another Marvel movie because Johansson was available and had one more film in her contract.
To visually represent the way he absorb all fighting styles. That scene is just the "He copies hawkeye" and we will also obvisouly have a "now he copies Cap" scene.
Outside nerds nobody knows who the fuck is Taskmaster. He is litteraly a nobody for the public. Some introduction and showcase is needed.
Calling this a Mission Impossible movie rip-off from just the trailer is essentially calling any spy/espionage action thriller a Mission Impossible rip-off because it's in the same genre. Bourne trilogy? Mission Impossible rip-off! Daniel Craig Bond series? Mission Impossible rip-off! Atomic Blond movie? Mission Impossible rip-off! MI has all those silly tech stuff and masks, which I doubt the Black Widow movies will have.
Music gave me Blade Runner 2049 vibes. I dig it. I'm interested and curious, and will check it out after opening weekend.

Well, if the answer to the question "What does a spy movie set in the MCU look like" is "Pretty much the same as most current ongoing spy franchises", then I definitely question why the movie exists in the first place. But I concede that the first trailer isn't enough to judge the originality or theme of the whole movie.
The motorcycle chases and skydiving scenes do feel a bit too familiar, so hopefully they aren't the main action sets.
And let's not talk about silly tech masks when discussing the MCU, shall we...
I still don't understand why they're doing a prequel movie of a character that is already dead, and who we, as the audience, have already said goodbye to.
Oh, it's set after Civil War? Then that's when you should have released it. Marvel dropped the ball on this, not green lighting it earlier.
And I agree, it's kind of like giving Hawkeye his own movie. Who cares when you have literal gods in the Avengers? Hawkeye/BW always struck me as support characters, the problem is Scarlet Johannsen is too big an actor to be a support.
Meh her and hawkeye is the least interesting of the bunch imo. Well see i probably still watch it of a lack of better things to watch.
Do you hear the voices too?
