Should there be "smart" matchmaking in BG's?

The #nochanges is pretty tiring at this point. The community shouldn't be held hostage by unforseen unintended exploitive bevior the few take advange of. If they need to make a change that is just common sense, then for F--k sake I hope they make it.

Disagree. If they start with "common sense" changes, it won't end. Common sense would dictate playable specs for everybody and balanced pvp/pve support for all classes without niche specs being too weak/strong. #nochanges might be a difficult thing for people who weren't prepared to actually play classic as was, but it's what we've got, and how it should stay.

Yes. The PVP Gear is for PVP... If you can spend the time to get the Epic Quality gear it will make a major difference long term.
Some of the EPIC Quality pvp gear has more stam on it then Naxx pieces.

Premades will be the nail in the coffin for the last casuals after p2. Mark my words.

1) they will dodge each other using Discord.
2) they will farm solo queuer.

That way they will exploit the ranking system with fast and easy wins.

I am pretty sure Blizz won't do a thing. It seems they are happy with p2.

Group queue addons existed since vanilla, they just werent popular. There are also other ways to queue as a group even without addons.

how is it unforseen when it happened 15y ago already? are we pretending we don't know anything that was going on in vanilla? when everything about what was going to happen has been discussed to death since classic announcement, for more than a year before the actual release?

if we should have some changes in this game, then there is a whole lot of things to change before thinking about matchmaking in BGs.... talking about common sense, if you have some then you know what I'm talking about. there is a full list of things to fix before thinking about that shit.

edit: this thread remind me of the NY Knicks. the front office builds a shitty and unballanced team, but after 20 games when the team is the worst in the league, the front office fire.... the coach!!! this is still an unbalanced team that sucks, a new coach is not going to make it any better unless you fix the real problems.... check your priority.

Lot of nonsense comments in here.

First, dodging is not the same as win trading. It's also not bannable. If people organize to not queue into each other via a third party app. That's frowned upon, but not against TOS as it can't be proven.

Win trading is and always has been bannable. Win trading is when you queue into another pre-made team and one team rolls over for the other team. And they switch off.

Solo queue bashing was how you got a good bulk of your honor in WSG/AB weekends with your premade. Not allowing this would make win trading more important and common. And would add incredible amounts of time to the HWL/GM grind if you had coordinated teams sitting in WSG for hour long matches. The time limit in WSG didn't come out until WOTLK.

Bots are more commonly and automatically banned now. If you see bots in retail, I'd image they are around because they don't care as much. Probably just enjoy the sub-money for a dead game.

They are not trying to replicate the old ranking. Too much has already changed, starting from queue being crossrealm. There is absolutely no point in trying to hold on to it. Also, if you can only farm solo queue people with your premade you should probably solo queue yourself, or git gut.

Barely. And it is never better than Naxx or AQ40 gear. It may have more stam, but the Naxx and AQ40 gear will two to three times the Spellpower/AP while only having ~10-15% less Stam, and it has much better and more impactful set bonuses.

And the weapons alone are massively better.

Oh, and lets not forget that about 95% of people will never see the ranks required to even GET the Epic PvP gear.... but everything up to C'thun himself will be puggable within about two weeks, meaning literally anyone can get it. You can even just pay for a carry.

BWL, ZG, and AQ20 will also be completely puggable.

Classic is not a private server. A private server was a non-blizzard re-created game where the creators made changes they felt would benefit the the game. This is not that. I'm not a #nochanges person. But this is was a part of classic and should not be changed.

What are you talking about? If every classic WSG / AV / AB was premade vs premade the grind to rank up would be 100x worse. Do you not get that? There is no time limit. There is no death limit or resources limit
