Yeah, to be honest I was glad they kept it so close to the original material rather than try something new. Twileks always looked kind of fake and makeup-y in Star Wars, that's just how they look. Better than just having humans everywhere in every role, that's for damn sure.

I laughed when I recognized Aoyade's voice on the droid, though. That was unexpected, but delightful. I was waiting for it to ask someone to turn it off and on again, but I guess they didn't go for all the low-hanging fruit.

Overall I'm quite pleased with the show. It's a lot more interesting than the usual boom-boom fare we get served these days, the cinematography and aesthetics in this last one in particular I found really well done.

What a shame! I hope it was a one time thing and that we will still have 2 more great episodes to look forward to.
And im glad your not the showrunner, director or writer. Im glad you have nothing to do with where star wars takes its story. Last episode was one of the better episodes. Bill burr was fine. The other two are fine as well. Seeing as Mando didnt off anyone this episode i suspect we will be seeing them again next season.

    Agree to disagree then...
I gave all the episodes an 8 on IMDb so far and this one got a 3. It was the worst so far. As I said. Felt like an episode of The Orville.

Hope never to see bill burr in that show again.

It was the combination between looking like shit and insanely bad acting. No excuses to be that bad.

Hopefully that means a RoS tie in. If anything we see some Empire -> Jakku -> First Order related event. People suggest the series takes place within a year of Jakku.

Creators say it takes place 5 years after Episode 6, i.e. 25 years prior to Episode 7, which is apparent from the presence of stormtroopers and rogue Imperial Moffs
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

There's a number of interesting things about the timeline, but honestly the coolest one to me is the fact that Baby Yoda is likely older than Mando :P

What does Bill Burr have to do with The Orville?

And I'm not quite sure why you're bent out of shape about "ridiculous looking aliens" in Star Wars... Have you been paying attention for the past 40 years?

He killed at least 2 people for sure, and maybe many more, when he put the tracker on the brother. He didn't kill them himself, but he certainly knew what was going to happen by doing that.

I think it's just an extended preview of the movie after the show, nothing to do with the episode itself. I could be wrong though.

    My times are off.

I was listening a podcast that said Jakku happened 5 years after Endor. Wiki say it happened 5 BBY. That would mean Jakku already happened, I guess...which makes the presence of anything Imperial related weird. I guess we'll see.

latest episode was... stupid. None of the characters were original, every beat was paint-by-numbers predictable, but the action scenes were on point at least.

I like many things about the show but:

    1) Six episodes in and the story still goes nowhere. If it is only supposed to be character development then the episodes are too short and nothing developed since the first.

    2) The production is very cheap. It looks more like a fan film. Decors, props and makeup are garage quality. I've seen cosplayers who did a better job on Twi'leks and other aliens.

The Devaronian was fine IMO, even though i was used to Gault being lanky, but like you said people come in all shapes and sizes.

The twi'lek was off putting tho, not the brother as much as the sister, it simply looked bad... iv'e seen cosplays and porn parodies with more convincing twi'lek females. Perhaps it was the acting as well, she felt too forced or something. Also, why fangs? WTF is up with that? I know males sharpened their teeth sometimes, but this was just vampire stuff...

The merc guy, Bill Burr was OK, i had no idea he was supposed to be a comedian podcaster or whatever so i had no associations while watching him. the gungan and stormtrooper bits were funny tho.

I’ve why to see an episode I didn’t like I'm rather fond of there being a lot of actual bounty hunting and the customs effects and sets seem to all be on point.

The Mandalorian is refreshing in its simplicity and slow, linear pace.
I've enjoyed every episode. Still, it's about time they move forward with the overall plot, a little more background info on Mando and the child would be nice...

I've been listening to Burrs podcast for years and I think he's hilarious but definitely not for everyone. As far as comedy goes, he's probably most famous for his philly rant if you want to look it up on youtube. He loses his shit when the crowd heckles and doesn't hold back.

The battle of Jakku and the "end" of the civil war was only a year and a few days after endor. BBY and ABY stands fore before and after the battle of yavin. The civil war ended roughly 5 years after the battle of Yavin. So the republic and empire were at peace during the events of the show. Not to much is known how that all worked though and how much the imperial faction was allowed to still survive.

Not all Twi'leks have to be pretty or perfect. Not to mention they very much fit with other movie depictions of them. And I'd like to see some of these garage quality decor and props if you think they are similar. Some of the CGI effects are a little cheesy but understandable given budget constraints.

I don't say pretty, I speak about production quality. Bib Fortuna in Return of the Jedi isn't pretty. Pick any of the high rated fan films on Youtube and you are not far off on decor either. Especially the latest episode 6 happening in a corridor.

    Lol.

Saying a disney budgeted show made to help launch their streaming device is the same production as what you would find on youtube with a straight face.

    Good one.

Next you'll be linking that guy doing an impression of Harrison Ford and saying he should have been the new Han!

We get it. Mando No Good. Why should we even bother watching it.

Started out nice, but now there is no storyline. It's just the same again and again; random bounty hunting.
Were you born like 10 years ago or something? =/

It's told classic-western style. Lone ranger going from town-to-town, and we experience new cultures and people along the way with the beautiful sci-fi settings.

You know that's comming. The typical formulae for these kinds of shows is Big plot start... start bonding adventures... middle hiccup on big plot... more bonding adventures... Climax for Big Plot as bond is solidified.

We're due for the mid-hiccup I think at this point. Just enjoy the adventures, the cultures, and we get to really explore the SW universe! ^_^
