TBH if a company doesn't think they can deliver in time, they should have to just take the financial hit and hire more developers to finish it on time.

I hope you're being facetious, here.

You do know it doesn't work that way, right? Can't just "throw more developers" into the problem and that would fix it. There is a saying that goes "too many cooks spoil the broth".

That said, "hiring more developers" would do nothing to solve this problem. Developers would have to be trained and brought up-to-speed in what is being done, etc. That means developers currently working on the game would have to split their time with training the newly hired developers to bring them up to speed... further delaying the development of the game.

They never said it would be out at a certain date. They said "expected release by Dec 31". The wording is such that's not a guarantee, just an estimate. Regardless, your only provable loss is the pre-purchase price which they will gladly refund you.

I expected a reworked campaign which has been adjusted or even feature new scenes. (Sylvanas, Uther + Jaina etc.. These were changes were already confirmed to be there in 2018, with them not adding any new voicelines however, we won't get these changes to the story.)
So, I didn't expect something that hasn't been said would be featured.
I expected exactly what they said they'd do with reforged and the campaign.

The Stratholme on-stage demo is what I expected to be the case for most maps (whenever/wherever it would make sense)
