Just saw it, did not annoy me as mutch as I thought it would.
Still it is one of the worst Star Wars movies but it’s above TLJ but it also breaks a lot of lore.
Things that made little to no sense for me, a Death Star that has been blown up in a sea? Did they forget that nothing was left after the blow or that it is as big as a planet itself?
Palpatine alive when he clearly died... they never explain on what way.
Trying to run Rey over with a spaceship that has canons and lasers? Is he retarted?
Force ghosts can still interact with the real world.
Luke ofc getting even in a flashback his ass kicked by a girl.
Palpatine can lightning bolt a full fleet of spaceships, he could had won in episode 6 by himself never needed a Death Star.
Oyeah, Palpatine lightning can stop a whole spaceship fleet but two lightsabers can stop it.
Count Dooku stops his lightning attack when it is not working on Yoda, well Palpatine keeps going till he dies from his own attack and this should be the mastermind that took over the rule in the universe?
Kinda destroys Rogue one since they needed a lot of crystals for the Death Star weapon well now all final order spaceships have the Death Star weapon.
Rey stealing the Skywalker name fucking lame. Don’t let the title fool you all skywalkers die their is no rise of Skywalker they all die in the end.
The skywalkers did never bring balance in the force since Rey is still alive. So if we go with Disney lore then a new Sith should now be born somewhere to counter the light side of Rey.
General Hux is a rebel spy??? Did they forget there own movie where he is doing his nazi speech and gives the order to blow up all the republic planets.
Luke his x wing needed repairs in episode 5 after it got in the swamp, well not in this movie it’s fine after being under water for like 20 years...
Palpatine made the biggest fleet the universe ever saw? Where did the resources or troops come from? And nobody known about this on what way? Atleast in episode 2 they explain the clone troopers and on what way the army was created this time around nothing they are just there.
Force healing is made out to be the easiest thing for a Jedi it has been thrown around like its nothing...
It is like the creators never saw the originals or prequels, Anakin downfall was that he as the most powerfull Jedi ever and had all the access of all the Jedi knowledge did not had the power to safe the one he loved. Well this movie makes him look like a stupid weak fool since everybody can do it.
Anyways I still ignore the Disney trilogy and don’t consider them part of Star Wars just some wierd offspring series.
But I have to say I can rewatch this movie unlike TLJ what just pisses me of by just thinking about it.

Not the best SW movie, but it was atleast entertaining compared to TLJ.
No, death star was blown up in space. But the debris later fell down... Logic, use it.
Why? Maul was cut in half and fell down that giant hole and he survived.
If you saw the movie he never tried to kill her, having that said it was a weird thing to do just to get a "cool" scene.
Well tell that to every adopted kid. Also Luke and Leia gave their aproval so no real stealing going on there...
Agree, but they are strong in the force, also Emperor palp said something at the end when he absorbed their force that they were both special. Hence why he wanted both of them there.
My thought on the movie after a few days:
Best in the new trilogy, fourth best overall. it felt like Star Wars, which TLJ did not do, but at the same time it felt fresh in a way that TFA didn't.
I like how they pulled a lot from the extended universe, such as Palpatine being alive and force healing being a thing (you can really tell who is a true fan, and not just someone who has only seen the movies, when someone claims "How is he alive?!?" and "The force can't heal!").
Star Wars has always been "anime in space", since it's more like fantasy rather than scifi. I mean, we are talking about a series who's most iconic characters are space wizards with magical powers. Therefore I thought it was a little strange with the whole teleportation thing, but at the same time we've seen far stranger things that the force is capable of in the books and games.
The space battle was epic, light sabers were cool and there was a ton of action.
Two things I didn't like were that the ending felt a bit rushed, it could've used another half hour or so. Second thing is that since it neatly knit everything together, it's gonna be difficult to use material from it in new books and games. At the same time, though, that gives the authors and developers far more freedom than they ever had in telling stories set after the movie, which is good.
Dare I hope that one of the next movies is about the Yuuzhan Vong war? That would be epic
I enjoyed my time with the movie. Some small things I was annoyed by, but as a whole it's on a solid fourth place among all movies, behind Empire, Revenge and A New Hope
Gold was the sentinel color for lightsaber are they seriously trying to pass it off as unique?

She's the one who hires the writers, directors etc. and dictates their course much like how she was one who kicked Lord and Miller because they weren't towing the company line. In other words yeah she bears a lot of the responsibility here.
Holdo existed to stand against poe and make you question rather the gun hoe main a character that all Starwars movies have is always right. Though out all of the movies the main characters always act head strong and think on the fly and it always works out for them holdo is there to show that it’s not always the best thing to do while also being a flawed character who’s own mistrust of poe leads him to fall into the normal role which ends poorly for the residence.
Every thing about her is meant to make you want to distrust her and be on Poe’s side just to point out that characters like poe don’t always win soloy due to there grit and gumption. She worked so well at that roll that instead of seeing the obvious people made her into some pro feminist boogie man even though she’s no different then any other character in the movie and her own short comings leads to disaster just as much as poe’s
So pretty much you missed the point.
It's almost like there are actually objectively wrong opinions.

No he made an objectively bad movie even ignoring the property it's attached to. It's a bloated mess of a movie. Adding on the star wars aspects it creates massive plotholes and doesn't follow in universe rules.
The deathstar fragments had to land somewhere...
In every post SW book the emperor had some sort of facility to extend/copy his life. Also, are we sure he is not a degenerating clone?
Yeah, Kylo's attempts for Rey's life are halfassed.
Well, the force manipulates the real world, why shouldn't force ghosts? The idea of force ghosts was flawed from.the start.
Well, getting his ass kicked by Leia is nothing to be ashamed of. They should be equally strong.
Palpatine had 20+ years to train his power. Also he absorbed Rey's and Kylo's powers (for a short time).
Yeah there's no reason why Rey should be able to defeat Palpatine.
Maybe technology advanced? The weapons are red now, maybe other materials were used.
I hoped she would embrace her family's name. But well, there must always be a Skywalker.
Force healing (or prevent death) is Palpatine's speciality. Rey inherited it like every other ability she has.
The Deathstar was vaporized, pieces that large would NOT have survived, and Palpatine definitely wouldn't either.
While it could be a Clone this is the kind of stuff the movie must explain.
Force Ghosts have always been shown to be limited, guiding and observing but unable to interfere as we saw with Obi-Wan, Yoda, Qui-gon, etc.
Leia barely had any training, for her to beat Luke like that is a long-shot after he was trained by Yoda.
Except not the movie itself is bad. It's bloated and just isn't good storytelling. It's not even a good pretentious arthouse flick since there is too much random action. The casino planet literally doesn't need to be there. Rose is a worse addition than JarJar. Yes you do need to follow in universe rules and the lightspeed suicide basically ruins every battle going forward. It's a lot like how blizzard gave the alliance a death ship with a giant laser and now pretends it doesn't exist. It's a massive plothole. The leader whose name I can't even remember her actions do not logically make sense. You can't just expect people to go along with your plans without telling them anything. Nobody who managed to rise that high would expect someone to do that. It's entirely so that Poe looks like a moron after at least that was the intent instead she looks like an idiot to anyone with half a brain. The whole tearing Luke down in general doesn't make sense and goes against what Luke's super power has always been. Luke has an unending and at times foolish faith in the innate goodness of people. He would never attack his nephew because of a vision he would talk with him and reason with him. The thought of attacking would never even occur to him. Luke was tested to an incredible extent and pulled himself back from the edge by sheer force of will. Lore is part of Star Wars but even without Star Wars attached it just isn't a good movie in general. The lore aspects take it from bad to horrific.
Ya but shes a woman though.
If they had shown Palpatine was a clone it would've been better, and why even bother with that ridiculous Death Star wreckage.. could've been any old Sith temple or some shit that stored the wayfinder. The damn thing blew the fuq UP and no chunks should've remained period.
