I am really disappointed myself, and my main is a DH. First of all the glaives are actually Swords. Second of all, the effort made is done by rogues, DHs, Warriors, DKs, monks. Doing Illidan in BT TW is no effort. I got both glaives on my rogue, with something like 3 years of effort.

I don't think this is fair, at all. Pretty shit in fact. I wanted to tmog it on my rogue. The ultimate Warglaive of Azzinoth weilder! And still, my main is a Demon Hunter. But I don't use it on that character. The Mage Tower Artifact skin from KJ Heroic (green one) looks so much better on it.

No death knight/warrior/paladin would even bat an eye. It was never exclusively used lorewise by one. Though it was a paladin that helped you get it. Now make it Frostmourn and the tears would flow freely from the warriors and paladins.

Glad that only DH can use it. I was afraid that I will see other classes with it. Its bad enought that they can larp as DH with blindfold from Illidan.

I don't get this thread. Are you complaining that they aren't changing the existing method of obtaining the warglaive mog? Why would they do that?

PS. Read all the comments... apparently it's about glaives being a DH only mog? Well that's weird, it's not like it's their weapon type... When BT was originally added the class didn't exist, so they were wieldable by other classes of course, but now it's kind of redundant as we have DHs.

Nothing better to do? This is not a punch anywhere, it's meaningless and nobody cares except you.

  6. #46
I think Legendry's should be transmogable for people who obtained them during the respective content.

Good. Why take away a unique weapon type from the one class that can use it? Let them have it.

  8. #48
Easy solution. Remove the DH shit and let them farm the proper legendaries like everyone else. These have been in the game YEARS before dh were even a idea for a playable race

Demonhunters already have a lot of niche features no other classes have, he doesn't need more.
It's not a glaive it's a sword, the model is of a WOW glaive, the animations and the weapon type is sword.
    im cool pls respodn

Indeed if this is the reason why they did it. Glaives should now be a unique DH weapon. Just my opinion ofc, I get it if a person is upset and wanted to RP their "LegolashiDK" as an Ilidari. I also get it that such a person would throw a massive fit over this decision
This is about the same as making DH only able to wield and transmog Warglaives from now on. No more swords or axes because those are exclusively for classes other than DH (Lorewise, DH only use glaives).

It's funny that as a DH player, I need to make the argument that this is an absurd and arbitrary choice by Blizzard.

    Man, Blizzard simps are wild.

Actually, since you gave me the perfect segway, I'll complain about something that's always annoyed me about the glaives (since WAY before this update)...

They're actually NOT Hunter weapons and never have been (at least not since class restrictions were placed upon them. I don't quite remember if those restrictions were always there, or if they got added later)...

This has always annoyed me as a Hunter, because there's theoretically no reason we wouldn't have or couldn't have wielded them (Especially back in the days when we still wielded melee & ranged weapons simultaneously)... We used agility weapons. We used swords. I understand that Melee is a greater priority for these in competitive raiding, but this hasn't been competitive content for over a decade. They've gone out of their way to add both Death Knights, Monks, AND Demon Hunters to the loot table for these, despite the fact they were never relevant/current loot for any of these classes. STILL... Blizzard never gave Hunters access to these. And any time I complained about it I got countered with "lol hunter weapon"

In the past when BC was new content, it annoyed me because they were an upgrade for me (even if I was the low priority raid member after Rogues and such, which I understood)... In the modern day it mainly just annoys me because as my Hunter is my main, I do most of my farming on my hunter, and my Hunter actually happens to have warglaives she can't use sitting in her bank. Just from random Black Temple farms.

And there was a double standard at play too, because while Melee was undoubtedly a priority for the glaives, Hunters were CERTAINLY a priority for the legendary Sunwell bow, but no similar restrictions were placed on the bow limiting it to only Hunters. Allowing Rogues & Warriors to obtain/wield it. Blizzard trusted raid groups to distribute the bow as they saw fit, but Hunters were arbitrarily locked out of getting the glaives (despite the fact they would and should have been an upgrade)

So while everyone complaining in this thread is upset they're walled behind one stupid restriction - Hey! Could be worse. You could be walled behind two!

All the other classes are just catching up with something that's already annoyed me for 10+ years. Welcome to my world.

ah balls. when i read the initial announcement i just sat back and stopped doing my runs, cuz I was like awesome now I dont need to and then thisssssss. so many lockouts wasteddddd

mind you it makes sense. its glaives.
Blood Elves were based on a STRONG request from a poll of Asian players where many remarked on the Horde side that they and their girlfriends wanted a non-creepy femme race to play (Source)

I am a DH and want to yield two big two handers like warriors.

This is a slap in the face that my DH cannot use two shadowmournes.

No reason why that should suddenly be true. They should not have dropped at all (before Legion) if it was so important that no other class could wield them, and originally they were not even made for demon hunters.

I checked the PTR every patch after to see what they add/fix/remove/restrict. I thought it as a simple bug due to the restrictions it had for Demonhunters. Having been told less than a week before release that the Warglaives are DH only doesn't sit right. They knew players will be upset about it and avoided announcing it early.

Limited content is fine if its about items that are unobtainable.
However you can still go to the Black Temple a few times, get the weapons, still being able to put them on but unable to transmogrify them?
Not to mention people having them in their bank for years.

Warglaives are a Demonhunter only weapon because its handholding and hyping the class, do draw in players that get excited about having their own weapon. Lorewise, it doesn't make sense its exclusive. Many non-demonhunter wielded them in the past. They even get wielded by current WoW NPCs that are VERY clearly not Demonhunters.

On that note, really great disruptive comments that add nothing to the topic and just try to be harmful. Good job. If you don't care, don't reply if you don't have something meaningful to add.

I bet we could come up with some strange rules for funsies tbh:

Thunderfury mog for two types of people only.

    -Prot warriors.
    -Guild leaders of raiding guilds.

Lmao, the OP is getting destroyed but keeps on fighting. Loving the tears and illogical arguments.

This is how it should be, and also how it will be. My DH won't transmog to BT glaives anyway.

Personally, I assumed when they announced transmoggable legendaries that the glaives would be DH-only, since there was already a thing in place to unlock that. It seems like common sense to me that the official warglaive class continues to be the ones that can use warglaives - and the argument that they're swords is silly because the only reason they are swords is the non-existence of DH as a class in BC.

At the end of the day people are going to be outraged no matter what they do. If they were usable by everyone, people who did the TWing BT stuff to unlock the appearance for their DHs would be mad, and keeping it DH-exclusive makes people like you mad. Its a no-win either way, like pretty much every other decision they make.

I unlocked the appearance with BT timewalking but honestly those glaives have not aged well, so I never use them.

I hope you realise how that's very different and stupid, right?

Granted we don't have single minded fury anymore so I wouldn't be dual wield mogging the glaives as a fury, but glaives in general is just "fancy" swords.
For a DH there's no difference between swords and glaives, they can use both and use them all as sharp pointy objects to slash and dash around targets with.

If anything DHs are the "special snowflakes" who got their own weapon type just to be more special, taking the glaives away from any other class that could justify using those same glaives just as much, and which they did for a long time...

Even practicly, and not just "Hurrdurr it has my class name on it": Glaives would work fine for several other classes, while 2handers and blunt weapons in general would not suit DHs and their fighting style.
