If you think that's a "leftist utopia", you have no idea what left-wing values are. I really don't care if you're misconstruing Sargon's argument (I doubt it, honestly), or if he's the one who's making this ridiculous claim. It remains a ridiculous claim, whoever the author may be.

I did flip through it. He consistently points to things like the overarching police state as if that's "left-wing", but those kinds of social controls are largely right-wing concepts. They invade the human rights and freedoms that form the core of left-wing values. Same for the attack on the anti-swearing censors; protecting free speech is a core left-wing value.

I've actually watched it and I've been subbed to him since 2014. I stopped watching him because he decided it would be a good idea to run for office and the only thing he succeeded in doing is running the party he was going with into the ground because of the stupidity of the shit he's said online. He's horrible with public relations thinking that "normies" are somehow as relatable as his subscribers when as soon as they see some of his worst clips they will never even consider voting for him even if he did apologize. I'm not going to pretend I'm better but I have the sensibility to remain fucking anonymous.

Carl is a ponce. He's misconstrued the entire foundation of the movie of it being a "left-wing" utopia when he ignores the fact that the movie came out when George Bush 1 was president. It can also be argued that the closer you go to the other end of the spectrum the more things one side argues for the more they look the same anyway. You can misconstrue almost anything to "predict the future."

There were some doosies in that film - also grabbing early talent like Bullock was a nice touch. Entertaining movie, although I understand the "remake" was more, um, severe.
