Public bathhouses usually offer those super steamy saunas, so you go naked in those too, with both men and women at the same time.

Actually, I have never been to a sauna, but I'm open to going. I'd say it depends.

I guess I'd be okay with being naked in a female-only sauna, or if I'm there with close friends only. I wouldn't go naked if there are men inside I dont know though.

In a sauna, you don't go in naked, you're usually wrapped in a towel to some degree. *It's the hot springs, public bath and spa that you go naked in*

In public bathhouses? Yes, if it's one of those steamy ones, where you can barely see your own hands. Otherwise, no. Or at least I've yet to see a regular mixed sauna in a bathhouse. And having clothes or a towel is a freaking sacrilege over here. We don't do that. Never even heard of people doing that, until I saw it on TV. Toss that towel out, you weirdo!

Yes they can. Most of the saunas are private here anyway there's anywhere from million to 3 million saunas. There's only 5 million people so quite lot of them. In private saunas you enter with your family and friends and it's quite possible to go together both men and women. Hell i remember bathing together with my cousins, aunt and mother when I was visting my grandparents place.

The whole being embarrased about naked body is awfully puritan to me.

Swimming hall saunas are usually seperated because of different showers and locker rooms. The steam style one I mentioned was in spa in Kuusamo which was mixed gender. But yeah swimming hall ones are always seperate.

I don't go to saunas; I feel like I'm suffocating when the humidity over 60-70% (the % variation is due to temperature, the lower the temperature the higher humidity I can tolerate).
