Thats why I laugh at people already taking it down the throat for a company that released one game with a good story and everyone loses their shit. They already are flirting with micro transactions so the sooner people take out the shaft the better.

Could this game be amazing? Yeah it could. Could it also be average and not hold my interest? Could also be that. I'll wait till the game is out but im not gonna be all "OmG sO tHAnkfUL They aRe NOt RusHING mUCH ReSPECT foR mE Wow"
The Witcher 2 was a great game too.

The Witcher 3 had more than an "amazing" story. It had hundreds of hours of gameplay and had certain side quests that were better than main stories of other games. Then they released two expansion packs that were bigger than most other games and they were cheap as fuck to boot.

There are valid reasons people love this company. They make great games and they have good consumer practises which is rare in this day and age.

    Why don't you calm down?

WoW, delaying it till september. Well I guess it works out well for me, I'm busy with a project in spring and summer anyway, this way I won't be constantly annoyed that I don't get to play as much as I wanted. Still though, half a year delayed is quite alot.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.

Was literally in the process of booking a week off work to play it then my co-worker said it's been delayed.

With Death Stranding eyeing up a release date, Watch Dogs Legion and Cyberpunk 2077 delayed I'm without a game I wish to play until the second half of the year For my taste in games it's a pretty weak year, hopefully with next-gen coming 2021 will be very juicy.

I can tell you one thing for free, I have never played a game and thought "I wish this game would have spent less time in development and been released sooner." Many, many times I have thought the opposite. More time doesn't automatically mean it will be a great game, but rushing to get it released quite often results in ruining something that could have been great. I say take as long as you need to make it the best possible version of the game.

Yeah the "haters" he was refering to in the interview werent the "challenging your ideas" reasonable sort. They were just haters finding stupid or imaginary excuses to trash on the game. Like literal "imma purposefully misunderstand this at every turn to make it into a news story" stuff

Rather gave a polished and delayed game then a fucking mess of a rushed game.

Also plenty of other games to play until September.
Do you hear the voices too?

  7. #1467
I remember the same happening to witcher 3 and it coming out amazing.

This wait does hurt though I will admit

While somewhat disappointed it's better for us all to get a polished product. Too frequent publishers push out games that are broken due to strict deadlines.

Pretty sure this is just the first push back, expect to see at least one more.

And they threat they workers like slave labor, proved again today with news that there will be mandatory crunch time despite the delay.

CD PROJEKT RED is a one of the worst companies to work for. So no sympathy for me, and will be skipping cuberpunk.

    "Hey guys crunch is bad"
    "Yeah, crunch is terrible!"
"We should delay games more so there's less crunch"
    "Yeah, that's a good idea!"
"We delayed our game. Now we're forcing all our staff to crunch"
    "...shockedpikachuface"

I had no problems with the delay until they said they were going to have crunch for the next what, 6ish months leading into launch? That's no bueno. Delays should give more time to avoid crunch, not create a half a year+ window for new crunch.

Highly doubt it, since that would then require even more work because if it's delayed any further they're also gonna need PS5 and XSX versions day and date which is 2 more versions to port and optimize. Now obviously those versions will exist eventually but they likely don't have time to get them ready day and date.

You will get it, as good as it is in Sep. They have to launch in 2020 due to their grant from the polish government and any further risks overlap with next gen releases without a next gen version ready to go- in other words not gonna happen.

They have to crunch hard IMO because of what I said above, this is really a final deadline for them. They have to get it out. Sucks for their devs, especially since CDPR is paying most of them jack diddly shit(Polish salaries being low AF benefits CDPR more then anything). They make good games but most gamers don't care about what cost it comes at.

They dont have to crunch. They force crunch for the devs because they are too stupid to properly manage any project or company.

Don't like microtransactions, just don't play games that have 'em. Simple.
Unless you happen to be playing one of those games that introduces microtransactions after launch and then alters the gameplay accordingly to encourage purchases.

    Nothing's cut and dry nowadays.

They're a !@#$ing Polish company. Why don't you start demanding that US companies match Polish wages ? That makes about as much sense as demanding that Polish companies match US rates.

You know who benefits from having lots of people employed ? EVERYONE IN THE !@#$ING COUNTRY. If CDPR employed US workers at US rates, *POLAND* would suffer. You know, the country they're based in ?

Trump employed actual slave labor, and he still got elected, so... *shrugs*.... people complain because its easy, not because they care.

I heard rumors about late 2019 release few years ago, I think they already pushed back release before last E3. But of course it's possible, game will launch when it will be done.

You don't care and will make excuses cause you get your vidya game tho amirite? Meanwhile Nintendo continues to pump out quality after quality with an average work day of 7 hours for it's employees. It's a problem whether you like it or not, if they aren't going to pay above average polish salaries then the devs shouldn't be having to crunch to finish their game plain and simple.

And now multi is unlikely to come before 2022.

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

I remember reading an article saying that CDP actually pays the majority of their employees less than average for IT specialists in Poland, though. It's not really about the conversion rates. I mean, Westerners won't be amazed if they see a hypothetical W3 dev earning 2.5k euros/3k dollars a month, but that's over 10k PLN and more than 99% of the people earn. That's really more money than you can spend unless you're into yachts or Teslas. That's not what the majority of their employees are earning, though. If the low-tier employees earn as little or less than an unqualified worker can earn... something's not right.

Though it's not really different from, say, Blizzard, underpaying their employees because working there is many people's dream.

That really sucks for the people making the game. If crunch is the only way to get your game out then it shouldn't even be made.
