    BFA Finale, Good or Bad?

Was the Nyalotha finale pleasing to you? Was it a good ending to the expansion, bad to you? was it what you predicted? personally i was a bit disappointed in the kamehameha, I would've preferred to see an awakened (maybe a small baby kick of) Azeroth harnessing the power of the origination machine to lash out at those that seek to corrupt her, maybe drawing power from our heart of azeroth as the anchor in the final moments. However, the ending is what i expected and it was satisfying to see Nyalotha nuked.

Terrible, it felt extremely rushed and lackluster.

It was pretty good. Not my fave expansion end, but i really liked it.
i made a meme with it, i need to remake it though now that we have the full cinematic with it fully working.

but yeah the idea of using the forge of origination to destroy nzoth is really a good idea and i loved it, cause we heard so much about it, what it did in the past, how it was lead up to over they ears, and a lazer that could purge all life on the planet, stopped by us with alagon, then stopping again in cataclysm, to now use it against the enemy? really cool.

but i am kinda sad the ending cinematic is just us seeing everything get blown up, but its a good way to go out. I feel like that the subtle hinting that n'zoth wanted us to kill him is better then just right out having a cinematic maybe zooming in on the dagger and then its eye turning orange.

cause we were only able to get to him by using the dagger on his carapace, and he carefully planned to MAKE SURE we got that dagger.

Exactly as terrible, irrelevant, and resolution-less as I would have expected.

N'Zoth exploded and that's the end of it. He's dead now, he will not be coming back. Azeroth? Still probably dying. Faction War? Barely an armistace and it looks like it'll break down any moment now. Sylvanas? We know how this one's going to end up.

I thought I was watching the LotR ending.

    The raid is really good.
    The fights are really good.
The idea of using a world-ending device to kill an Old God is cool.
The cinematic was lackluster and was pretty bad.

it feels like there is no effort/love for the game in it. it reminds me of the ending of wod. really makes me not look forward to shadowlands at all if this level of storytelling is what we can expect from now on...

My biggest problem with the story of this expansion is how they mixed all the stuff together and pretended it was a good idea

I actually like the patch from the gameplay EXCEPT the THIRD "talent" tree system for crap the basically only makes me stronger.
They really need to give up on those ohhhsofun systems. Just have current talents and get done with this bullshit. Noone wants to keep an eye on three systems.

Soooo the ending... Very cheesy and kinda strange that he was more interesting when he was not on the world. Even the ending of Azshara gave me some thrills... "Oh shit he is free"

They should have let 8.2 end the xpac and then give us a whole nyalotha xpac

Blizz took the finale video off of the official World of warcraft youtube page

Expected is not exactly exclusive with either good or bad.. l2p - learn to poll.

Bad for me. Started with forcing my character to be a war criminal and ended like 1 or 2 months ago. This now is just tacked on tat.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.

Actually I felt like watching GoT finale. Ok, so the current raid story is at an straight forward end, but what about all the things that should be?

What's up with the faction conflict? What happened to fireing the Bilgewater cannon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MMn544Jsmo&t=32m25s) - personally I always expected it is going to kill off the gods remains? What's with the datamined Warfronts in other regions?
Somehow it just stops and that's it.

Thats what we get when players cry about "killstealing NPCs".

An ingame cinematic that always looks like crap.

The faction conflict is over, but there is still tension from the Alliance side so theres a reason for the PvP system still to exist.

Nothing happened to firing the Bilgewater Cannon because it was just an offhand comment and nothing hinted at it in the game. There was no build up.

Warfronts were a monumental failure so why would they make more.

Nothing you mention was build up. You are literally talking about stuff that has been resolved (Faction Conflict) or was never even mentioned in the game (Bilgewater Cannon/other Warfronts) and most likely were just concept drafts.

The only real unresolved story thread left is the sword/Azeroth bleeding.

The one thing I wanted the most from WoW was a Black Empire expansion, with a massive Ny'alotha zone for the finale. Seems like so much wasted potential.

It seems like Blizzard got the "hurry up" from Activision to get the raid out sooner rather than later and this includes these rushed cinematics. This is one of the few disappointing cinematics by Blizzard.

Oh indeed. This could really have been something on its own. I thought for the longest time that BfA would transition into a Black Empire xpac. How wrong I was there. instead they wasted all that potential on this.

Bad & boring ... just like the whole patch.

What the others said and also I think it would have been better to give him a setback/imprison him instead of just blowing him up like that. N'Zoth was a very good villain and this feels like he was wasted.

Plus it's really boring that every expansion ends the same way. Big baddie shows up, boasts and blusters, then we go and 1 shot him. They don't even feel like real threats any more.

Please stop with that stupid cannon. The lore has already pissed itself and while sleeping in it's own vomit, no need to turn this into the story telling equivalent of scat porn. It's already bereft of dignity.

Well, the effects were pretty to look at. The contrast of the Black City being cracked and torn apart by the white magic was nice to look at.
Was satisfying to see the way the larger buildings crumbled.
Was intriguing to see the Heart Chamber connected strangely into N'zoths realm (was the idea that he had completely breached the chamber via the roof, and so we caught him at the last moment?).

Was underwhelming how that was it. But I hopefully but doubtful that he's still alive somehow, considering he's the only Old God that we've seen obliterated in such a way (no other old god has been Originated, TMK). After all, C'thun is/was still active in some way. The Faceless were swarming in Ulduar recently and Yogg's whispers were still heard. Not to mention Y'shaarj's heart was still active. "Have you had the dream again? A black goat with seven eyes that watches from the outside."
What do we fight? Is it just a manifestation of him, or his core? Did his whole body from Azeroth get transported into Ny'alotha when he was released? Was his consciousness imprisoned on Azeroth while his body and Ny'alotha were sealed away?

Bad, but it is not 100% over yet, not before we have entered the Shadowlands.
