I didn't like titanforging but even i, am prefering titanforging over corruption. Corruption just feels a clusterfuck of equipped abilities that is not your base damage, but coming from elsewhere. If this is the case, i would have preferred having just a ilvl gear boost as we had instead of this, many abilities from corrupted gear just feels like it's not even your own dps, from your class abilities + gearing, but overall coming from those echoing voids, and infinite stars, and devastations on aoe. And with tier 3 it's even worse if you don't have enough corruption resistance, and you have loads of corruption it will make you receive more damage than doing the damage, i got a 75+ corruption belt with infinite stars, and i felt i couldn't do my rotation normally, cause i couldn't have enough corruption resistance to deal with it. It does a lot of damage, the eye and the circle + the thing from the beyond following me, this on a boss fight is just technically impossible where you cant move much and a dps loss being a melee. I miss normal gear.
It was about the same in my situation. 19% for 3.44m.
I can't imagine why this is how it went live. If it was a cycle that it went up to 10 stacks, and then reset I could maybe see that being more balanced, but right now it just goes to 10 stacks and once you're there, it's going to just keep pumping out.

This patch was on PTR for an extended amount of time too. It's just baffling.
Have you seen the videos in PvP? Twilight Devastation shoots a beam of damage out equal to like 18% of your total HP pool.
It's hitting people in PvP for 120k + and just 1 shotting them out of nowhere.
There are a handful of solutions to make the corruption system better like corruption slots(like the Mechagon trinket), "reforging" the effects on gear or even just apply it with a consumable item, etc.. but it requires seriously curbing the RNG and we cannot have that for whatever reason.
Blizz thinks RNG adds longevity but since there is no point in chasing BiS gear and only the truly insane individuals try to do it, most people just clear the raids/dungeons the bare minimum times needed for the achies and are done with the content.
Balance aside, an additional currency should've been added that allows you to corrupt your gear.
Sockets aren't a problem this patch. You can get 2500 mementos for a full clear which will get easier and easier every single week, and as it stands, anybody with fairly minimal effort can get 4 a week, or 5+ if you're a degenerate. Not even counting the 5-6k you can get from full mask clears.
Yeah. People who are addicted to gambling.
That's all this game has become. A casino where you're constantly pulling the slot machine lever for a small dopamine hit.
People like me? I'll just unsubscribe once I've experienced the mediocre amount of content this patch has to offer.
What an absolute shit show.

You're not allowed currencies to select what you want to do. Player choice and agency has been systematically removed since the WoD days.
You'll play the game the way they want you to and that means RNG on RNG on RNG.
Why do you think there are no PvP vendors?
Well the only zone you listed that I actually did/enjoy and not just did to meet the rep requirements for shit like flying was timeless.
And horrific visions isnt that bad, I like solo challenge stuff. Timeless was fun, but it was 90% rare killing
the new raid and changes to m+ are also good
Comes a time when we all gotta die...even kings.
Are you kidding? PTR is a joke and always has been. Most people stopped testing at all ages ago because reported problems are very rarely fixed. You can easily look up Activision's own statements that they "don't have time" to fix issues even when they are reported weeks or months before launch.
You don't think things like quest items with 3 minute respawns that can only be looted by one player were reported? Yet here we are two weeks after launch and the same thing just turned up in another quest yesterday.
I get that each run needs to feel important and dangerous. But this is literally the only interesting content delivered in this patch.
I get to raid twice a week for a few hours and maybe a few Mythic+ in the same dungeons I've been running for the entire expansion.
Then what's left? The terrible dailies?
Visions are great. It's the fact that they didn't deliver much else. Also - Visions become insanely easy once the time-gating wears off and your research tree is filled out.
I can at least attest to most QoL problems people are complaining about on live were reported or suggested for changes during the PTR. Slow/scarce WQ objectives? Infinite looting of the Vale chest that spawned the suspension wave that was immediately retracted? Imbalance of corruptions/trinkets? All of this was reported many weeks prior to 8.3 even going live (I know I personally put in a ton of reports, and pretty much none of them were addressed).
I've been one of those people that tends to join the PTRs/betas for expansions and patches, so I've had my fair share of bug searching and reporting. The unfortunate reality is that I feel like my bug reports aren't being heard/ignored/etc more and more as time goes on. Used to be some pretty fast turn-around on hot topic items, now they can go an entire expansion before getting addressed. I understand fixing some issues can lead to other bugs, but we're getting way beyond the "spaghetti code" excuse at this point.

If I get a leech or haste as avoidance corruption out of my m+ cache and things like IS, EV and the like aren't dumpstered in a tuning pass I think I'm done for a while.
Not interested in paying for casino-lite where it's pure RNG if I get to be competitive with lucky players or not. A single item adding 15%+ passive damage purely out of sheer dumb luck is ridiculous.
Between that and azerite beam I've seen people doing 65-70k overall in m+ with like 40% of their damage not even coming from playing their class well.
Items as a whole is just incredibly boring. Mastery, Haste, Vers and Crit are just sooo bland theese days. You dont care what an item has aslong as it sims better than the other item with 2 of theese stats. Everything feels the same. The game needs some stats that you wanted to cap (hit, expertise as examples) it gives the gearing more depth.
So because of the boring items they have to come up with things like corruptions that are plagued with super RNG.
Make gearing more slow, less items dropping like Vanilla/TBC/Wrath and have them be more static. Those expansions were ironically the times i was most excited about items.
Hey now, nothing beats having +215 on 4 pieces of corrupted gear..
