You wont need a billion dollars, or two... you'll need upwards of 15 billion, largest kickstarter to date is what? 150M? so you'll need > 100 times that... Hurdle number one that you'll never reach, ever.

Assuming you some how manage to come up with that much money... then you dont even know if Activision will even sell to you.


How realistic? Not at all, OJ has a better chance of finding 'the real killer'.

You can always buy their stocks. This game started becoming bad exactly when Activision bought Blizzard out from Vivendi. I.e. back in Diablo 3/MOP times. Despite of not having any deals with game development, at least Vivendi didn't put any pressure on Blizzard and cared about success and popularity of Blizzard games.

If you mean when Activision-Blizzard became independent from Vivendi that was 2013-2014, MoP and D3 released in 2012.

Just a simple note: you CANNOT buy off blizzard from activision:
Activision-Blizzard is a single company (after the merger) and in legal terms there is no more activision or blizzard (as stand alone companies). So in your case, you can either buy off Warcraft's intelectual property (pretty hard as it is one of the top IPs of ActiBlizz), or even worse buy the company Activision-Blizzard. But even if you do the above be mindful that those are just the rights, since the people that created those games have mostly moved on.

Blizzard and Activision are largely separate entities under Activision-Blizzard. If they had a good reason it would probably be a relatively easy split.

There's a very strong chance that Acti-Blizz owns all the IP from both Activision and Blizzard.

And on the off chance that it could be possible they don't, there's nothing stopping Kotick from ordering the head of Blizzard to simply assign the IP to ATVI (or to anyone else, if ATVI sells off the IP, for example to some Chinese company.)

Doesn't really matter as you can't buy the stock that actually controls Activision-Blzzard anyway. They have to agree to sell it to you.

It's a publicly traded company, so you're talking about convincing shareholders to go for divesting themselves of a property worth millions/year. Not likely.

Even if you could buy all the publicly traded stock, you wouldn't have anywhere close to a majority of the stock anyway. The controlling stock is what you need to have.
