I didnt say it wasnt but since the introduction of M+ it got way more then before or maybe i just didnt encounter it that much. But compared to Challenge Mode ,which were kinda "niche" at its Time, M+ introduced challenge mode and esp the mindset of playing these Challenge Modes to the Masses and with that i started to see it more often.

Revert to MOP Tanking, where Brewmaster Tanks were amazing and Druid tanks wrecked stuff. DK's could outheal any healer. Do this and Tanks would be fun again.

I like tanking already, but to make it more attractive I'd like to see all classes get a 4th spec at some point where some of them get a tanking spec. Mages could be spellbreakers, warlocks could turn into an actual demon to tank, shamans could go for a build that specialises in an earth spec, survival hunters could be like Rexxar in WC3 and become pretty tanky.

As others have said, it's the people that make it awful. My first main was a tank. I enjoyed it until everything became a rush to the end. I hate rushing through everything. And whatever you do, everyone else can fumble their way through, but the tank better be an expert. With today's demand for instant gratification, there's no "he must be learning, give him chance." Now it's "he doesn't know what he's doing," KICK. No thanks, I'm done with tanking.

It pains me to remember how MoP did just about everything right and WoW since then has just been watching them slowly dismantle all that.

There is a big problem here, and there are very few tanks, because they are very boring and slow killing ... is there any solution? I have a solution, eliminate the tank role. Maybe they should invent a new role, maybe support or dps / tank ..or protector, something but that does not imply that you do less damage than a dps ... is that, what more hays are dps, precisely because they are fun.Every time there are fewer tanks, because they are increasingly boring.
yes, there is, but say good by to any form of Balanced PvP, like that really exists in the 1st place, but it would be even worse. A lot of people just find tanking boring, so blizzard once upped the DPS that Tanks could do, and more people tanked, but it ruined PvP because there were people that could Wreck you, and not take a bit of damage. And as it has been stated, if tanks could deal the same DPS as DPS, why bring anything that isn't a tank? So no people will have to tank because it's needed, not because it's "Fun".

Look at the warrior tiers from classic they already knew how to get ppl to play tanks back then.

Mists was the last time I really enjoyed healing and didn't mind tanking if I was asked too.

It's mostly a social problem. I did some raid tanking and I hated it because every fuck up (sometimes not even mine) made me feel like I was wasting everyone's time. DPS feels freeing by comparison - your only real job is not to get yourself killed. And that was just me putting pressure on myself - if I had to deal with pugs it would be even worse.

I certainly wouldn't want to tank any timed content like M+, especially being someone who doesn't even do M+ regularly - everything you don't magically already know would be your fault, the community does not tolerate learning.

    -Vengeance.
    -Shield Slam damage buff.
    -Silencing Heroic Throw.
-Add cooldown to Ignore Pain and remove rage cost.
-Having Dragon Charge and Warpath would be cool too.

Tanking isnt boring. Having to babysit mindless groups of adhd idiots is what makes tanking unappealing.

    Tanking boring?

Yknow whats boring. Tanks who cant do the simplest fckin skips in m+.
The headless chickens who dont éven know what affixes do. Who single handedly fail your timer.

Yknow how you Combat that? You do it yourself. Its extremely rewarding to be in charge. People dont fuck with you. Unlike that pathetic Frost mage doing less than tank dps.

I tank when I want things done fast and am in a rush. I dont bother with it otherwise.

Its tiresome to watch people mess up, pull stuff, complain i'm slow and pull more and I have to deal with everything.

As for non group content. Tank is slow. Everything is slow. I can get things done faster when I'm dps. When I'm dps I get and pick dps rewards. So tank gear stays behind. Currently there are azerite pieces too. I dont want to drag along and fill my inventory with random pieces I use rarely just to have a tank version of them. So I dont even have azerite traits set correctly.
This reduces the chance that I choose to tank. If I do something, I prefer to do it as well as I can. Going to tank any relevant content in dps gear = no.

When you are geared up to play dps, have everything set for dps and to switch to tank, it takes more than to just switch spec.

If we forget the social problems of group play that blizz cant really do much, the part that blizz can do about is messed up.

    Want to help tanks?
Reverse the changes made at the start of BFA. Give us Legion class design again. I relied less on my healer and more on my own damage mitigation / self healing.

  16. #136
I quit tanking when they removed tank gear and made tanks into budget DPS, MoP was the last bastion of tanking.

I see all these casual fucking boomys, dks, dhs, monks.. all fucking dps and dps only. Casual scrubs who only master one of their 3-4 specs. Their weakness disgust me.

Give my mage a 4th or hell, give us a healer spec aswell and ill ace those 5 specs so hard.
My man. I was a warlock. But I changed to druid to show those scrubs how it's done

Well. I guess WoW has to die to figure it out, Final Fantasy did.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

I've been a tank since early Vanilla, and used to be I would happily tank for friends-of-friends, or full random pugs for those inevitable UBRS farms for instance. Continued to do so all the way through LK, by which point people had really stopped having any damn idea what they were doing, or any respect for the others with them in an instance.

By the time LFD was introduced things had gotten fully cancerous, and I was already avoiding the shit. I had plenty of DPS+Healer friends who always wanted runs, so I could run as often as I wanted with people that had some form of accountability.

it was never about people listening to me or letting me be the leader or holding me in any special regard like some people you'll see posting, but they had to at least understand what I was doing and not actively make my life shit while paired with them.

Still is today. You want tanks to tank for you? Don't be a fucking idiot, or learn to do it yourself. Pug DPS primarily (rarely healers) made this awful. They're the ones who can fix it.

With that said by all means stop a shitty tank and talk to them, help them learn if they need to, kick them if they won't. We aren't god's gifts to humanity.
@thwart <- don't click this and learn his shame
Newsflash: 2016 Thwart would hate 2019 Thwart! Definitely don't click this either!

    We see you.
