Throughout the race, we captured the names of the players involved and the timestamps of boss kills from all realms in all regions.

    Razorgore the Untamed

At only six (and seven) minutes past the hour, the first guilds to complete the Razorgore encounter were:
    • CN United from Huhuran (China) at 23:06 UTC
    • Praxis from Zandalar Tribe (Europe) at 23:07 UTC
    • For teh Horde from Heartstriker (Europe) at 23:07 UTC

    Vaelastrasz the Corrupt

Basking in the glory of great power, the first three groups to end Vaelastrasz’s torment were:
    • Praxis from Zandalar Tribe (Europe) at 23:08:54 UTC
    • Ashes of Time from Earthshaker (China) at 23:09:08 UTC
    • Shao Guang from Ouro (China) at 23:09:10 UTC

    Broodlord Lashlayer

After a brief suppression, Broodlord Lashlayer went down first to:
    • CN United from Huhuran (China) at 23:17:49 UTC
    • RISE from Incendius (North America) at 23:19:21 UTC
    • Calamity from Mograine (Europe) at 23:19:38 UTC

    Firemaw

Firemaw’s Shadow Flame barely slowed down the same three leading guilds:
    • CN United from Huhuran (China) at 23:22:15 UTC
    • RISE from Incendius (North America) at 23:24:24 UTC
    • Calamity from Mograine (Europe) at 23:24:36 UTC

    Ebonroc

At this point, another guild from Europe charged into contention, and Ebonroc was first downed by:
    • Calamity from Mograine (Europe) at 23:31:52 UTC
    • Progress from Firemaw (Europe) at 23:32:12 UTC
    • CN United from Huhuran (China) at 23:32:15 UTC

    Flamegor

The same three guilds in the same order ended Flamegor at 33 minutes past the hour:
    • Calamity from Mograine (Europe) at 23:32:58 UTC
    • Progress from Firemaw (Europe) at 23:33:17 UTC
    • CN United from Huhuran (China) at 23:33:50 UTC

    Chromaggus

A dragon for all dragonflights, Chromaggus succumbed to:
    • Calamity from Mograine (Europe) at 23:37:12 UTC
    • APES from Gehennas (Europe) at 23:37:12 UTC
    • Progress from Firemaw Europe) at 23:37:22 UTC

    Nefarian

With less than 43 minutes elapsed, the first three guilds in the world to complete Blackwing Lair in WoW Classic were:
    • Progress from Firemaw (Europe) at 23:42:21 UTC
    • Calamity from Mograine (Europe) at 23:42:21 UTC
    • APES from Gehennas (Europe) at 23:42:29 UTC

Congratulations to every guild that planned and executed this feat so well!

42 minutes after opening the raid and its cleared.
This shows what years of experience and knowledge does to a raid.

Wasn't this raid one that broke the back of many raiding guilds back in the days?

Reminds me. I want to see the unnerfed version of C'thun in AQ40.
The one people claimed unbeatable by the numbers back then.

wow...nef kills are on the same second

They must be desperate for money after the Warcraft: Refunded launch. 50% off only the FIRST month. "Here try it for a month! It's like drugs, only with actual dragons!" God they are pathetic.

"Blackwing Laid cleared in 42 minutes."

Well, then. Wasn't Classic raiding supposed to be hard...?

  7. #7
They should have added milliseconds to those time stamps.

I see you don't understand how marketing things like this work. It would have been created atleast 3+ months ago, and would have been ready to turn on since at least a month ago. This kinda stuff doesn't get created overnight.

That and back then a major issue was poor performance due to poor connections. Even fairly casual guilds are clearing vanilla raids: they aren't especially difficult.

Believe the dungeon gear rebalancing took place after and mathematically it wasn't killable. All we are seeing is people executing video strats they have done for 15 years and with the gear and talent rebalancing they are way ahead of what the guilds that did this stuff actually world first had. They also aren't developing new strategies just following ready made ones.

Is there a VOD from one of those guilds? Would be fun to see it.

15 years ago, people didnt have poor connections.

xDSL was common place in 2005, which more or less everyone had. Hell, even my mother (who was 65 at the time) had a 2048/256 ADSL connection.
    Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

Horde and Alliance with the exact same time. Seems surprisingly balanced.

Well, that version won't be in Classic at least.

    1. It was considered a fix by blizz rather than necessarily a nerf. They do the same thing by fixing broken bosses on the fly nowadays while world first races occur, rather than waiting months to realize that the boss is indeed mathematically impossible to kill. There were also mechanical bugs happening with the stomach phase that needed to be fixed too, so even if they increase the health of the tentacles back to the original values they would likely leave the stomach bug fixes in, which ultimately would allow for more dps time on tentacles and fundamentally change what the problem was.

    2. Almost all features of Classic, including the state of bosses, is being initially set to what existed in patch 1.12. C'thun was fixed as part of a hotfix while 1.10 was the base patch.

server population paints a completely different picture Classic 1 full and 23 high pop in EU. Retail 18 full and 37 high pop. There are more medium servers in EU then there are servers in total for classic Eu.
Looks the same in NA except there is a lot more full servers for retail.

    https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/game/status/us

There is a reason they already started 50% off for classic players

Retail is their main game by a landslide

But Classic is hard and Retail is for filthy casuals

Pretty much this. Not sure what the point even is with Blizzard trying to celebrate like it's an achievement. Classic WoW ended ~13yrs ago.
