Reminder: Republicans don't care about you if you're LGBTQ+, once again they marginalize and sideline issues raised by Log Cabin Republicans.

This isn't to bring up LGBTQ+ discussion, but more to remind people that Trumps push to get support from that community is bullshit as hell.
That anyone who is gay would stand with the GOP is beyond baffling to me. With at worst being so openly hateful to the LGBTQ+ community to at best being antagonistic to that community it would be like a Jewish person being supportive of the Nazi party well into the opening of the Ghettos or a slave being supportive of the slave masters.

As Skroe has pointed out, this isn't caving; neither party has historically evinced much of an interest in dramatically lowering the military budget, and if they did it's much better to limit the scope and adjust the budget accordingly than to limit the budget and make them do more with less.

That said, on issues that are actually important, they've given very little ground. Remember the shutdown over their refusal to put any funds whatsoever for the Wall in the budget?

Congratulations, GOP. You're left with the defense of "the man we've chosen to follow often acts impulsively".
Mainers guiding principle in November needs to be ABC: Anyone But Collins.

That's the one upside of the last few years; her facade as a principled moderate has been utterly destroyed. It's now fairly well documented that if her vote would decide the outcome of a vote, she votes the way the party wants her to vote. If it won't change anything, then she pretends to be a principled moderate that bucks her party.

I've actually had a couple Trumpsters say "why do we need allies?" and all I can do is wonder if they understand how the world works.

I'm actually not worried about this one. This is the early stage of the relationship. Give it a few rounds of insults and then a summit and then Trump and Duterte will want to bone.

Jeremiah is pastor of the San Diego megachurch helmed for 25 years by Tim LaHaye, co-author of the Left Behind series, and he is a fervent follower of the End Times theology his predecessor popularized. By referencing symbolism in the Bible and shoehorning historical and current events into a narrative, The Book of Signs “proves” Jesus’ imminent return. It’s the type of book that mostly appeals to people already primed to believe it, but close to half of Americans do. In fact, 41 percent of the country — and 58 percent of white evangelicals — believe that Jesus definitely or probably will return to Earth by 2050. In June 2016, Trump named Jeremiah to his Evangelical Executive Advisory Board. In May 2018, Trump moved the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem, an event that is meant to presage Christ’s return." (Emphasis mine.)

It's a very illuminating article if, like me, you at first laughed out loud when Trump claimed he'd done more for evangelicals than any other president in the history of ever. https://www.rollingstone.com/politic...-trump-915381/

This is how he rules--favors that cost him nothing (you think he gives a ripe flying shit where this, or any, embassy is?) and keep, in this case, the religious right on incandescently hypocritical lock down, and heads-on-humiliation-pikes fear that keeps everyone else in line.

One thing I have started to think about and I wonder if it might be true.

We know that Trump is half blind, he refuses to use twitter in public and his scripts are written in over-sized sharpie as well. But what are the odds he is color blind as well?

I mean seriously, how else can he honestly think coming out looking (Like another said) an Oompa Loompa version of blackface would fool anyone. What are the odds he is color blind and, to him, that looks like a natural bronze complexion to him?

We already know he thinks he knows more than anyone else so no one can tell him otherwise and he won't dare admit he has a problem. We have his vision, his weight, his health, his popular vote, his poll numbers, his inauguration crowd, his net worth, and virtually every part of his life is a lie to make himself look better than he is.

What are the odds that him being color blind is actually another one?
No, rich people think tand are sexy, and god know he believes his time is worth more than the time it would take to actually tan, or possibly he's actually concerned with skin cancer, so his go to is a quick min fake spray tan.

As for his budget. Pelosi will not pass anything that costs social safety nets.

I've said it for years we need more scientists and science minded people running for office and less lawyers.

Pffft. Do you expect facts to get in the way of a republican's outrage?

Work for the President, despite having no political background, leave said job with President to go work for Fox. Later leave Fox to become an advisor for the President's son-in-law, still somehow have the title of "counselor to the president."

Its like she's go one position from Trump, swapped to Fox to compare notes and organise the arguments to defend and get on the same page, then swap back to Trump to make sure they co-ordinate with these same arguments later on.
More than strange, I find it downright upsetting that there are so many unqualified individuals working in the White House and are able to gain experience like her. What exactly is she even advising anyway?

    No.

Trump is out of competent people who want to work in his blatantly crooked, loyal to Trump over party and country organization. He's left recycling.

Might as well just leave this here, too

    Spoiler:

How can people follow this person. He sounds like some scorned teenager. "No, I never really liked you, so now I will talk bad about you". Trump speaks like a brat child making stuff up and acting as he was always in the right.

I cannot believe you follow some 77 year old person who act like this. Why I can't take Trump cultists seriously.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

Oh look, pointless confrontations with Syrian security forces, where Russia tries to be the mediator to de-escalate because US troops have no clearly defined mission in the region and the US has abandoned our Kurdish allies and lost much of the territory they once controlled.

Again, Donald Trump doesn't care about US servicemembers and has no problems putting them in harms way for something like "protecting the oil".

So far, he managed to make both Iran and Russia look like the good guys, next to the US. That should frighten people more than it does.

John McEntee, President Donald Trump's former body man who was fired in 2018 amid an investigation into his alleged financial crimes, will lead the Presidential Personnel Office, multiple news outlets reported Thursday.

Former White House chief of staff John Kelly forced McEntee out over issues with the young aide's security clearance. The issues were related to online gambling problems and mishandling of his taxes, the Wall Street Journal reported.

McEntee was also the subject of a financial-crimes investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.

McEntee was reportedly escorted out of the White House in March 2018 without being allowed to collect his belongings, including his jacket.

McEntee joined the president's small team during the earliest days of his presidential campaign.
