they are, but they have clearly made an evolution in how communism can function with a dose of capitalism in the economy.

i think china actually does capitalism the right way, honestly. strong state oversight, yet still giving some leeway. "free market" capitalism is a globalist joke. a nationalistic US with china's version of capitalism would be the absolute best thing to happen.

China, economically. The economic slowdown recently still leaves their growth above that of the Western world.

If you want to acknowledge the actual meaning of "socialism" sometime, rather than insisting that it's a synonym of "communism" (and it's not), then "the Western world" is a decent answer. The question there is "how socialist", not "if socialist".

You just cant accept the fact that you are wrong and that your ideas are backwards. Not only are they backwards but they would detrimental to the US. Nobody, besides a small fringe group of far left whackos want socialism in the US.
I like how you ignored the part of my post where I drew a clear distinction between economic policy, and the authoritarian rule and human rights abuses that are the only thing you're attacking.

This is why we can't discuss socialism. Because those of you who're so far down the propaganda rabbit hole can't attack the concept, just the straw man arguments the propaganda has filled you with.

    Why not link the article?

Because it's from 2016? Post sources, not just garbage screencaps.

Thanks for resorting to exactly the straw man I pre-emptively pointed out in the very post you quoted. It makes it really clear you have zero interest in an actual informed discussion.

Socialism has NOTHING to do how authoritarian the government is...
Also China is striving, you really wanna deny that?

And funny how you ignored Scandinavia and Europe, while only harping on the China comment without even understanding that

I think the problem here is that you don't know what socialism is.
I am NOT talking about communistic countries. Socialism is not contrary to capitalism. It is contrary to liberalism and conservatism.
Hell Point to canada and the US as well. Both have large layers of democratic socialism with health/retirement systems.

As with anything going to any extreme in a system usually leads to a failure state. Some socialism to add a safety net to the wild west that pure capitalism winds up heading towards is needed to help keep things in balance between productivity and a place people can still have a good life in. Full on capitalism leads to things like the company store and full on monopolistic systems.

I'm frustrated that people keep linking screenshots and never bother sourcing anything. I like sources, because I like being able to verify the credibility of the information shared.

This, for example, isn't "new", it's very old news.

The poster has previously shared "poll statistics" via screenshots that don't seem to exist either, and they still haven't provided a citation for it.

I just don't like garbage information, that's all.

Funny thing is that the military is a socialist product and conservatives LOVE the military... they just can't wrap their head around that it is socialistic.

I don't view him as "a massive threat to democracy", especially not after he got absolutely eviscerated on the debate stage the other night.

Yeah, he's garbage. I think you'll find vanishingly few people with even a lukewarm opinion of Bloomberg in these forums. The most praise I'll give him is that he's at least throwing big money at anti-Trump ads, which help Democrats overall.

What fucking world do we live in that people think Stacy fucking Abrams would accept a VP nomination from Bloomberg?

I've seen the reports of Bloomberg hoping for a brokered convention, but I'm not buying that he has the muscle for it. You can't "buy" that shit.

Which does nothing to address the fact that right wing whacko's don't understand that there is already, especially by their extremely broad definition of "socialism", extensive "socialism" within the US from Medicare/SS to farm subsidies and aide to tax writeoffs for corporations etc.

You must think the fire department is dirty than, or police, or public libraries, or maybe educate yourself and you won't think it's such a dirty word. I can't fix your ignorance for you.

Socialism is just a word. A word can have whatever connotative meaning they want. Americans associate Liberal with Leftist, Conservative with Libertarian, Free Markets with Gods Will, and McDonalds with Food.

Word association means nothing. If the people want a National Health Service, that is what they want.

On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. No...I don't think that at all. That should be your first clue that something may be seriously amiss with your reasoning skills.

    That approach is kinda funny...

Instead of going "Well, thanks to FoxNews propaganda many people don't know what socialism actually is, so let's just fix that and educate them", right-wingers approach is "Well, many people don't know what socialism actually is, so let's just stop talking about socialism"

After Super Tuesday the other candidates need to start dropping like flies and the DNC as a whole needs a 'come to Yahweh' moment towards Sanders if the DNC is going to salvage this. Like it or not, Sanders, and Trump before him, have struck a nerve with the masses and being dismissive of them will only end badly for the DNC. I don't love Sanders and he won't get shit done in office (progressive wise), but at least he isn't an abhorrent festering hemorrhoid on the asshole of the US like our current fuck stick of a President. Shit, he may croak in office and we'll have President Stacy Abrams come 2022 or 2023.

To invite any fuckery at the convention with not going with the candidate leading in delegates is to invite disaster. I can almost guarantee that.
