Given the spread rate that will likely be near the peak of the epidemic. If I were you I'd send out the husband to go on a grocery shopping spree and buy a months worth of food. Preferably do it early morning when no-one else will be out and about to minimize contact with others.

That assumes there are any grocery stores open. Employees may have been told to stay home.
Hm...the one big store Wegman's in King of Prussia PA is open 24hrs. They were packed...lines were unreal (or so I was told)...this at 2am...

That's what I worry about, stupid people panic buying everything in the store, leaving nothing for those people who aren't in a position to buy a months worth of food at once (the one's who fall through the cracks, make too much to get assistance but not enough to not be paycheck to paycheck), the ones who will have to continue to shop weekly like they usually do.

yeah and i only weigh 105lbs so i need food. my adderall doesn't help as it increases my metabolism and erases my drive to eat.
there was no calamari. and no frozen devour brand queso chorizo. im quite the picky eater. people are just buying up whatever. at least i found some mussels.....no one panic buying those....yet.

I like Kroger. True..a few Kroger brand stuff is meh, but overall good stuff.
Sadly...China doesn't have one, but then again..Beijing hasn't experienced any panic buying. The ONLY cases we've really had in the past few weeks were from people coming INTO the city from infected countries. *dunno why*

I think due to the inverted pyramid of age structures this bug will be significantly more harsh in say Europe where locking the population down is legally difficult and also a lot of people are old aged pensioners.

Given this disease really F's with the elderly, its likely going to be WAY more lethal there.

It's not legally difficult, all it takes is one vote of the parilament.
But it is pretty much unenforceable. Merkel has the best approach - saying that 60-70 percent of the pop will get infected and the fittest will survive
