    We more need an expansion, where the main villian is clear and active from the start, so that we can have an actual build-up instead of this "suddenly N'zoth appears!" and then dies.
    This right here. Even THO Blizzard spoiled that the main villain on MoP was Garrosh on an interview before the launch. People that never read/hear/sought that, still was loyal to Garrosh until SoO pre patch happened and you see Thrall and Chen murdering thousands of Korkron Orcs butchering them, because YOU CANT REASON WITH ORCS HAHA!
    MoP started so well, yet it got so shitty for Horde Players than it was reflected with BfA. Because we never saw a tru villain on BfA, yet ALL THE RAIDS except from 1, were Old God inspirations... Instead of a Siege of Stormwind, or Razing Thunderbluff or idk Battle for Ironforge. Nah just a fucking Tentacle Temple, Old God Facility 1, Old God Facility 2, Old god Empire.

    Yes we need a clear thematic of expansion, we dont need an expansion to be MASKED, because of LOREEEEEE~~~~ uuuuuuuh, clear and stake. Thats the villain? good, what power? void, undead, light? k and everything surrounds that thematic. Thats why Shadowlands its really hyping me up.

    Its death thematic, but different takes on the afterlife. Big Bad based on Death, a Death Hero/villain that will bring more death. Thats an expansion that has the chemistry to win it.

    Problem = Systems.

    Well i would also say, that BFA set itself up for failure with its villain. Sylvanas could not work as Warchief and main bad guy at the same time. Its just a role, that does not allow for a duel identity. Would have loved if they just dropped the Sylvanas thing and had BFA start with the events of 8.3, that could have been fun.

    The best example of how to do a Villian of an expansion is Wrath and a little lesser Cata. In Wrath we saw the Lich king in pretty much every zone in Northrend. He was present and had a clear evolving agenda throughout the most of the expansion. While the end was a bit fucked up, Cata also did really well with having a good villain. Deathwing was again present from the very start, flying around the world burning as he went and his agents being the main focus again and again, ending with a direct confrontation in the end.
    May the lore be great and the stories interesting. A game without a story, is a game without a soul. Value the lore and it will reward you with fun!

    Don't let yourself be satisfied with what you expect and what you seem as obvious. Ask for something good, surprising and better. Your own standards ends up being other peoples standard.
