At least it's news, people. Yes, BfA is shit. Yes, ShL will brobably shit as well. Both the alpha and the eventual release. But it will be a different shit with new art assets. The art team is always good. I personally welcome alpha starting soonish.

idk if you know, but alpha and beta arnt about compeltly redoing the entire expacs main system, but its about making sure all the content works and isnt broken/bugged...
by the time we get alpha/beta it is always too late for them to completly redo the expansions main system. best they can do is make minor changes, or add fixes early, liek they did with azerite in 8.1 the extra row, the azerite vendor, and the nerfing of azerite levels.

I mean i reported an issue where you could walk through a wall and get stuck during the BFA beta in Zul'dazar. It was fixed by the next week.

That's a bug report. They do fix those. Actual worthwhile feedback regarding bad design choices, not so much.

That's a bug report. They do fix those. Actual worthwhile feedback regarding bad design choices, not so much.

I think the problem is they wait too long to start asking for feedback. By the time they let people test Azerite armor in BFA there was no time for any meaningful overhaul to happen to it, so all they could do was small patches until the next expansion. They -say- they have learned, but time will tell when the beta comes out if Torghast and everything else is testable.

There is also the issue of people thinking "I don't like this, bring back this instead" is feedback.

If recent history is any indication, once they commit to a gimmick for an XP, they are in .... my guess is they are looking for feedback on how to make the current system better not the cries to bring back an old or retired system.

Sadly, I've just come to expect the game to be a wonky unbalanced mess for a couple patches before it improves any. The only feedback they seem to really listen to is people not using their new stuff.

Wasn't the chatter among the classic fans that they simply loved the old game, it's systems, art work, lore, and of course the wonderful community? Wasn't it also said they would be content to play it on an infinite loop if they simply made it available? Wasn't the proof of that fact all the people supposedly playing vanilla on private servers? Are the current number of people playing classic enough for them to do anything other than merge servers or accelerate the release schedule of vanilla content?

May as well wait out TBC servers.

Pretty sure those "changes" is called The Burning Crusader Classic, and Shadowlands will go even deeper into the pit called "Casual gameplay", wouldt be surprised if they remove secondary stats and only leave us with main stats as its confusing the most "casual" players.

these threads always make me laugh, with people thinking that any suggestions made (which are usually biased toward what that individual player wants in the game, and not the majority of players) will be implemented then proceed to cry as if the universe has ended when they arent. one day all of you will realize that your individual request will fall on deaf ears unless it is a game-changer, and Blizz will continue to make games FOR THE MASS AUDIENCE!

Alpha is the time to listen to feedback.
but by the time alpha is out, it is already too late to change the biggest systems of the expansion.
think of it this way.
you are at school and you are working on a powerpoint presentation.
its due in 1 hour. but because it was not done before you didn't ask for input.
its done! it took you 4 hours. so you ask for input
"You know its supposed to be in a different format right?"
Now, do you spend the next hour putting it into the new format, knowing you wont be able to in time, and will show up with an unfinished product? Or do you show up with what you have, which may not be up to snuff, but at least it is done, works, and is acceptable. Then maybe after, you can explain to the teacher "Tomorrow i will fix this up and get it into a proper format and hand it in again!"


they cant go only 6 or so months from release "oh these major systems we dumped the last like 5 months into? yeah fuck it, lets scrap them and do something else!"
They have to use that system, the best they can do is quickly work on a way to make it better. which in legion they did slightly, and in BFA, less so, but in the very first patched they entirely fixed it.
legion they made legiondaries spec based (Thank god) But didnt make legiondaries easier to get till after the final patch...
BFA azerite launched prety bad, but but in the first patch they released 3 changes. Azerite vendor. azerite level requirment tiny, and extra rows on azerite gear. that made the whole system many times better, it was soooo much better.

and yes, in a perfect world blizz could say "we are delaying the expansion to redo this system yall dont like"
But i swear to fucking god, even now you can see people saying "they have delayed shadowlands its not even coming in 2020, or even 2021"
and people are mad.
i swear to lord allmighty, if they delayed an expansion, people would be filling the forms with shit, and complaining and crying, you already have people mad "this drought is so long, this sucks, release shadowlands already!"
