    1. 8.3.5 never existed.
    2. They have made changes to 8.3, nothing is abandoned. Stupid sentiment is stupid.
    3. Vulpera and Mechagnome are the final Allied Races.

I'm not sure races from the Shadowlands can leave, except the val'kyr. If that changes during Shadowlands I'd expect Kyrians to go Alliance and the Venthyr to go Horde.

    Pretty much confirmed.

They said that while they wont be adding as many allied races in shadowlands they will be adding at least a few more.

My theory is that they will add Kyrians and Venthir, then the new allied races will all be neutral allied races to fill the middle ground.

Where? In Blizzard's pocket. Just shut up and pretend that fat humans and diaper gnomes are cool. Coomsume and don't ask questions.

Furbolgs for the Alliance (pandaren base model, slimmed down and given unique heads and skin tones a la the Nightborne so they're more primal/athletic) and Mok'nathal for the Horde (Kul'Tiran base model, bulked up and given unique heads and skin tones).

With the Horde's actions at Darkshore, the furbolg tribes therein have all the motivation necessary to take up arms and avenge the fallen, in addition to their long-standing friendly relations with the night elves (and during the Horde's occupation of Darkshore, the tribes' survivors could have been given shelter by the furbolg tribes of the Azuremyst Isles, allowing night elves, draenei, and furbolg to further strengthen their ties). Several of these tribes have, historically, been marginally affiliated with the Alliance if only out of proximity to the night elves and the helpful nature of passing adventurers, making them prime candidates to bring onboard to help shore up the losses of the Fourth War. It would also help fill a niche, as with the worgen reclaiming most of their more refined Gilnean sensibilities, and the night elves split between the vengeful following Tyrande and those who want to pick up the pieces and move on following Shandris, the Alliance is a bit lacking in a truly primal counterpart to the Horde's refined blood elves and Nightborne.

Conversely, the Mok'nathal under Rexxar are longtime Horde allies that could strike a serviceable middle ground between the desire for playable ogres (one of the iconic Horde races that always seem to teeter just on the cusp of Blizzard figuring out a good way to make them playable until a different candidate makes the cut instead), and issues with building geometry a race as large as ogres would cause if they were made playable. Mok'nathal are roughly tauren-sized, bigger than orcs but not so large that entering ye olde questing hub would prove problematic for those without a smaller shapeshift at the ready. Furthermore, they seem to mirror Thrall's push for a noble savage Horde back in Warcraft 3, with Rexxar in particular more than willing to go to war with the Alliance for blood and glory, but also able to recognize when glory in combat is giving way to reckless butchery.

I think they might add two more in the 9.0 prepatch. It would give us something to do in that month between prepatch and launch.

Undead versions of all Horde Races since Sylvanas was a super villain and would have raised them while she was Warchief. And for the Alliance, High Elves. There, that is it. Spend the rest of the next two expansions bitching about how things aren't exactly as people imagined them to be.
Retail sucks. Classic sucks. No positivity, only negative feedback. Why is everybody so damn miserable? Must be somebody else's fault, it couldn't possibly be my INSANELY TOXIC ATTITUDE.

High Elves would still have to look distinct from not only Blood Elves but Void Elves as well.
I'd worry if Alliance would be resentful of getting Blood Elves 'again', but I guess that depends on how unique they make High Elves look, or even if they use the Blood Elf model for High Elves at all. The more unique High Elves are probably, the less of a headache all of that is.

If the High Elves are unique enough, I think they could let Blood and Void Elves stay as is without needing to give out any faction/race changes. Nevertheless, if they release High Elves alongside, say, a really fast leveling event while they also know they're coming in advance before they say, use a character boost for a new expac on something else, then it would probably make the situation better there as well. But in the case High Elves didn't look all that unique, I do think in that case they would probably need to open up options for Void Elves and Blood Elves to change to High Elves. This would all be influenced by how unique the High Elves can be made to look.

    They didn’t retcon anything.
The blood elves fled for their lives from the Alliance in their wc3 campaign.

When WoW launched, the blood elves were not aligned with the Alliance, which tracks with the situation following the events of Frozen Throne.

    1. wow this has never been so wrong "blizzard can cancel a patch planned or not" the person was saying "you cant cancel a patch that was never going to exist" which is true, you are trying to say that they were saying "blizz cant cancel patches" which they can, and have.

    2. that is not even close to true. Warcraft 3 specificly showed the elves seperating from the alliance, and were void from classic because of this, then coming in tbc as part of the horde as they were the only ones nearby and accepted them.
literally not a retcon, just a story.

The final pair of alliance races mostly likely will come with the release of Shadowlands expansion.

I’m aware they’re part of the ladder, but during the story campaign they left/were driven out of the Alliance.

who promised a final pair of allied races?

This reminds me of draenei rogue hints since TBC and people always saying they will be playable in no time. Still waiting 13 years after TBC.

....if you don’t have something planned you can’t cancel it....not even just in the sense of 8.3 but in every sense.

WoD has planned content that was cut

What's all this talk about a 'final' pair of races? Couldn't they just make the number bigger, have a bigger building? If you look at the portal 'room' in Org there are lots of spots for new ones. The downstairs still has empty one and there is the other - currently blocked - hallway.

do you even know what retcon means
The Alliance gets the Horde's most popular race. The Horde should get the Alliance's most popular race in return. Alteraci Humans for the Horde!

We got so many allied races already.
Maybe better in 10th expansion a new class/4th spec and new allied races.
