Every single news outlet in the world downplayed the effects of the virus when it first came out. CNN, MSNBC, and everyone else just said it was around as deadly at the common flu and it isn't a big deal. None of them took it seriously. I'm waiting to see the same Washington group sue them as well. Or is it just because Fox is on the right?
Also, information on the virus has been constantly changing, and people are taking it serious now. If you want to blame someone, look at this idiot who didn't cancel Mardi-Gras because she wanted to blame Trump instead of using her brain and making a decision.

1.4 million people came to the city, and potentially got COVID-19.

This shouldn't be a lawsuit. This should be federal charges that put executives and frontline talking heads in prison, for years if not decades.
I completely agree, unfortunately, the "sheriff of America" is their biggest fan, so the DOJ won't do jack shit to them.

That's a non-issue because there are already laws that let you charge propagandists with terrorism, you simply gather the evidence of their intent to cause harm to civilians and then present it to a judge.

The fuck are you talking about? I recall MSNBC and CNN both saying they're not taking it seriously... and none of them said it was as deadly as the common flu once we had stats from China.

Sure as long as you have the evidence that they either caused damage or were planning to cause harm. If the evidence is too vague it'll be a dead-end though.

In the early days, everyone down played the effects of the virus. This could either be due to China lying to the WHO on several occasions, or possible due to not wanting to cause panic? who knows.

Surgeon general: Be cautious, but not afraid of coronavirus says CNN http://archive.vn/l9GDK#selection-1079.0-1079.59

I should point out that the article above is an opinion, similar to how Sean Hannity is an opinion host, in case you didn't know that and have the IQ of a deck chair.

The good news is everyone is taking it serious from now on.

No he is not, but if you read the article you would notice he says nobody needs to panic. If CNN felt differently they should have wrote their own article detailing on why.

Want to see a real example of endangering the public? How about a campaign to hug a Chinese person that had recently traveled to Wuhan?
    https://rmx.news/article/article/fea...ian-virologist

Or encouraging people to party and not cancel Mardi-Gras, and potentally causing 1.4M+ infections? http://archive.vn/8pEME

We also had some prominent figures in New York telling people everyone is fine and we don't need to panic or shut anything down so keep partying and don't bother using social distance measures. Can't wait to see when your group will sue them.

    From the link you provided.

NEW ORLEANS — Mardi Gras may have been the perfect breeding ground for the coronavirus, leading New Orleans to become one of the epicenters of the virus.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell appeared on CNN Thursday afternoon saying if she had more information from the federal government, she would have pulled the plug on carnival season.
“When it's not taken seriously at the federal level it's very difficult to transcend down to the local level in making these decisions,” Cantrell said. “In hindsight, if we were given proper direction, we would not have had Mardi Gras and I would have been the leader to cancel it.”
Cantrell had already made several difficult decisions during the Carnival season, stopping two of the city's biggest parades after people were killed by floats.
According to Dr. Rebekah Gee, CEO of the LSU Health System and former state health secretary, Mardi Gras helped the virus spread across the state.
“We now think in large part Mardi Gras happened when this virus was circulating and 1.4 million people came to our city, many came from all over Louisiana to New Orleans, they caught beads, but also caught COVID-19,” Gee said.
Cantrell is one of several politicians who have been critical of the White House's early response to the coronavirus outbreak. President Donald Trump downplayed the virus early on, saying that the first diagnosed cases in Washington state would be cleared up within weeks and the country would be virus-free after.
“One day, it’s like a miracle. It will disappear,” he predicted on Feb. 27, two days after Mardi Gras.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the country was not prepared for an outbreak like this and described the US's initial response as "failing."
“The system is not really geared to what we need right now, what you are asking for,” Fauci said during a congressional hearing on COVID-19. “That is a failing. Let’s admit it.”
Mardi Gras happened, and now Louisiana is one of the leading states in number of virus victims. There most certainly is a lot of blame to go around. The President, the governor of Louisiana, and the Mayor of New Orleans are three people that share quite a bit of responsibility for a good chunk of the huge number of virus victims in the state of Louisiana. Not only are they not going to be punished for their role in what is happening in Louisiana, when at least they KIND OF have the excuse that it was not yet clear how bad it would become, but even now many southern states are allowing people to congregate in church this Sunday. Mardi Gras sure seems to be a direct cause of the deaths in Louisiana, and now people are doubling down on the killing, both this week and last week, by having people congregate in church on Sundays.

And as much as you can make the case that the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana should be in jail for criminal negligence, your own link implicates Trump in a very major way:

President Donald Trump downplayed the virus early on, saying that the first diagnosed cases in Washington state would be cleared up within weeks and the country would be virus-free after.
“One day, it’s like a miracle. It will disappear,” he predicted on Feb. 27, two days after Mardi Gras.

I agree with your assertion that many democrats should also pay prices for this as well.

This misleading info has already killed a lot of people, and is likely to kill a lot more over the next few months. It will also dramatically damage the US economy.

You are correct that at this time, the media has the legal right to just flat out lie. The US is paying a huge price for allowing this to be so prevalent.

If it were that much of a joke, why do you think that Fox News has changed their tune and actually started taking this thing seriously?

They will say what ever they have to for views/clicks. That is why the legacy media is a shit show. "if it bleeds, it leads." They should all be held accountable for every lie the spew.

Yep, I think the same thing. But, the problem is, since the Fairness Doctrine was removed, it has been shit.

That's how you think, you see this not at as matter of information vs misinformation but as a matter of right vs left.

What's your excuse for them still doing it? Actually don't answer, nothing of value comes from a person who believes killing off others is a good idea.

Really? because no one told Donald Trump since he repeatedly called it a MSN left wing hoax to bring him down.

Do you even know why? He didn't outright ban all travel from China. He still allowed Americans who were in China to come home. And when they did they were not subject to any kind of real screening or anything. He essentially only banned Chinese from coming from China. As if only Chinese people could carry the virus or become sick or something stupid in his mind. THAT is why it was Xenophobic and why his travel ban was fucking retarded. So many of the initial spots in the US were traced back to people who had come in from China and Wuhan itself.

Because I was accusing the other major news agencies of fear mongering personally.

Oh man, so are you going to be around to say how bad they are if they get me and my entire family killed by some ass hole going out and getting us sick because they listened to fox?

    How thoughtful of you!
