I honestly hate that "the governor is boring while being extremely competent at saving lives" is even an argument people make.

I agree. I mean, "let's huff bleach" isn't boring, but boy was it a stupid thing to say. And even Trump knows it, which is why he lied 24 hours later and said he was sarcastic.

I don't look to my governor for entertainment, I have Netflix for that. I look to my governor for calm, collected leadership and accurate information.

Sometime competency speaks for itself. Before the pandemic, his approval rating was 42%. Now, Newsom’s approval rating is 93%, according to the latest Morning Consult polls. Which meant even those that voted Republicans approved of his performance.

The amount of looting/attempted looting that will be going on right now is mad. All the while the working class will be expected to go and die for essential jobs whilst the capital holding class eat cake. If they dont end this with a new social contract its going to boil over.

I saw musk was being his usual cunt self as well.

I voted for Newsom, and I would vote for him again without hesitation. Still, he could be more upbeat in his updates. The country really could use somebody like him at the helm. Instead of Mr. I-Take-No-Responsibility-for-Anything.

Well, it looks like Trump has defeated Covid 19.

And for $100 you can now buy the commemorative coin.

I imagine he was told to be as serious as possible, otherwise it would look like he's happy about thousands of people dying. And then there's all of the economic hardship people are facing. I would bet he's purposely avoiding looking or acting like anything remotely close to upbeat or happy.

The .com address should be a pretty big flag that it's not legit. Should be .gov if it's actually the White House gift shop.

Because it's not. Apparently some company based out of PA.

That makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that sort of fake(ish) business is allowed to run.

Damn, Trump's face not being on the front of the coin should have been the first clue. :/

Admittedly it does look like an Onion article.

"the Patent and Trademark Office granted GSE the trademark to use White House Gift Shop, which Marshall reported appears to be "the only trademark in existence specifically referencing a relationship to the White House."

Well, the numbers do not look good again today, as I expected.
61,656 deaths, 2,390 on the 29th. So much for that "weekend lull". New daily cases has also been increasing again since the low two days ago. I'm worried that we'll be into 70k by next week at this point. And given that we know some areas (like Florida, as mentioned above) aren't or won't be reporting deaths correctly I'm sure we're closer than we think.

But hey, this administration apparently considers this a "great success story", so I suppose we should be thankful it's not a horror novle. I mean novel.

Is there ANYTHING we can do to get Americans to vote for boring competent people to high office?

We've passed the Vietnam threshold, more Americans have died of the coronavirus in under a year than over that entire war which lasted well over a decade.

And according to Kushner, who was once one of the people in charge of the task forces responding to this but has been conspicuously absent in recent weeks, having more Americans die than the Vietnam War, with many more expected, is a "great success story"
Hey 'only' 60k people have died (and counting). It could have been millions!

To paraphrase Trump what he said today this must be the talking point his idiot stepson has advised him on.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!
