Exactly! Honesty, I'd LOVE it if they kept the three tree system, had a ranged tree, then made the assassin tree all about MAX damage, focusing mostly on dual wield and Hidden Blade, then made the warrior tree all about sustain and defense. Lots of shield based attacks, defense increases and sustain. I'd be in heaven!
Yeah, same. As much as I loved the Spear of Leonidas... It seemed crazy to me that as Spartan warrior couldn't use a shield.

Warrior-Magi
Don't know what I was expecting. Just saw the cinematic, was really cool but.. where's the gameplay? It's 2020 guys, cinematics and no gameplay is so 2010s.
Also, whats "holidays" exactly? Summer vacation? Christmas vacations?
Trailer was pretty good, but their song choices remain hot-garbage.
I'm more interested when we can see the game in action and know who the playable characters are.
Good to see Travis Fimmel is still getting work. That aside, the video looks good for what it is. Look forward to seeing more.
The playable character is named Eivor and can be either male or female.
Soooo fucking stoked to have an AC game set to the good old homeland!
From Gameinformer, also has some ingame screenshots: https://www.gameinformer.com/2020/04...creed-valhalla
1. Eivor is pronounced “Ā-vōr.”
2. You can choose whether your Eivor is male or female.
3. Customization options let you change Eivor’s hair, clothing, war paint, and more.
4. The game takes place in Norway and England.
5. England has three major cities to visit: London, Winchester, and Jórvík.
6. You can dual-wield almost any combination of weapons.
7. Every piece of gear is unique.
8. Gear can be upgraded and customized, and you can use the same equipment from beginning to end if you want to.
9. You earn new abilities through a system mechanically similar to a skill tree.
10. What you can accomplish is more about gear and skills, not character levels.
11. Words the team have used to describe combat include “brutal,” “crunchy,” and “weighty.”
12. The team is putting extra effort toward enemy variety to keep encounters surprising.
13. You have a longship you use to go on raids.
14. Your longship has a crew, including warriors you can customize.
15. Assaults are big setpiece moments. They are different from raids, and involve attacks on large fortifications.
16. You build a settlement that serves as your base.
17. Your clan and others you recruit live in your settlement.
18. Hidden Ones and Order of Ancients (a.k.a. Assassins and Templars) are in the game.
19. At some point, Eivor meets Assassins, works alongside them, and uses a hidden blade.
20. King Aelfred of Wessex (later known as Alfred the Great) is an antagonistic figure.
21. Layla’s story in the present day continues.
22. Ubisoft Montreal is leading development on Valhalla. The studio’s last two Assassin’s Creed games were Origins and Black Flag.
23. Twelve other Ubisoft Studios are supporting Valhalla’s development, along with external partner Sperasoft.
24. Valhalla is a cross-gen game, coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X alongside currently available platforms.
25. The game will release during the 2020 holiday season.
The pre-order page on ubisoft has some info.
Lead Epic Raids
Launch massive assaults against Saxon troops and fortresses throughout England. Lead your clan in surprise attacks from your longship and pillage enemy territories to bring riches and resources back to your people.
Visceral Combat
Unleash the ruthless fighting style of a Viking warrior and dual-wield axes, swords, or even shields against fierce, relentless foes. Choose your tactics and dismember opponents in close-quarters combat, riddle them with arrows, or assassinate them with your hidden blade.
Write Your Viking Saga
The advanced RPG mechanics of Assassin's Creed Valhalla give you new ways to grow as a warrior and a leader. Influence the world around you while acquiring new skills and gear to suit your playstyle. Blaze your own path across England by fighting brutal battles and leading fiery raids, or form strategic alliances and triumph by your wits.
Alfred the Great and York, nice. Strange choice of time period for a game set (mostly) in England.
Dope, thanks for sharing. Sad we don't have a shot of lady Eivor yet, but almost all of these things sound good to me. Very much sounds like they're continuing to move towards open world RPG nonsense and away from oldshcool AC stuff and they're improving on what the did in AC:Od. Very pleased with this and looking forward to it.
