Look at the CNN site and you'll notice there's a shitload of articles unrelated to the recent unemployment numbers as well. Your point is lost on me.

Oh look, it's almost as if what I said before about trolls coming out of the woodwork because of a corrupt Trump "win" and then slinking back off after a few days was spot on.

The US is now at over 1 million ACTIVE cases. That number keeps going up. AKA the exact opposite of what needs to happen for the US to "reopen" safely. I haven't checked yet--because honestly it's depressing every single time--but if today holds true to the pattern of the past few weeks we may be under 2k deaths. More than 2k would be a bad indicator. I'll check just before leaving for work because I'll be in a foul mindset anyway.

The empty boxes were left on the truck. Pence chickened out at the last minute.

1) Planning to do something bad, and then not doing that thing which is bad, does not make you a good person. It makes you slightly less bad than you were going to be.

The punch line, of course, is "Hey, is it okay if I intentionally make jokes about how incompetent we are as I show up to a fucking hospital without a face mask?"

This is not the first time Pence has been caught without one. He claimed he "forgot" but, when caught a second time, that's exposed as a lie. Not wearing a mask is a signal to the rabid fanbase that the coronavirus is a Chinese hoax that won't kill you, so get back to work before the numbers get worse.

If the economy is reopened and the R0 value goes above one (which is pretty much guaranteed to happen since its around 0.95-1.00 now) then the disease will start growing expontentially. That in turn will turn this into a health crisis and pandemic of epic proportions, the likes of which has not been seen for 100 years. If anyone thinks things have been bad up to now wait until the lockdown is lifted and it metasizes everywhere. So if the republicans open up the nation they won't be saving themselves, they'll be dooming themselves worse than ever. But sociopaths are going to be sociopaths I guess.
