A large point of why people consider BM "easy" is that it's the only ranged class that is 100% mobile. It uses exactly zero cast-time abilities in its rotation, meaning it's effectively a ranged melee in terms of how it plays. That's unique, and makes dealing with many mechanics a breeze and no DPS loss.

Its rotation isn't braindead easy, but also not terribly complicated. You have a number of timing to watch so it's not as faceroll as DH (who just press everything on CD except for Meta) but it's also not amazingly involved.

It's not so much about the rotation. DH, Arms/Fury warriors and Ret Pala have easier rotations than BM. But BM still have a fairly easy rotation, and compared to Arms and DH, BM has 40 yards range on all of its attacks. This is really what the meme is about. BM is playing like a melee spec but with 40 yard range on all attacks. So even though Arms and DH might have a slightly easier rotation, they still have to be in melee range at all time which is what makes BM so much more forgiving.

This exactly. Especially not once you can kinda forget about the barbed shot mechanic. And combining that with 40 yards range on all attack + 100 % mobility just make the combined package of BM very forgiving. But that's okay.

I actually think that Arms has an even higher gain per stat in relation to haste. But that's a technicality

Sure with gear the prio system is very easy to do, but especially with average gear it is not that easy to do maximum dps. pet managment/movement also comes into consideration. Sure most people neglect it, but it is theoretically a nice dmg increase, if your pet can do one more meele attack during beast cleave or that you don't get a delay by kill commanding/attacking the wrong target etc.

The thing that makes bm so good is that they scale insanely good with gear. your dmg increase/increased sec. stat is the highest of all classes, I believe.
    A few things:

    - The BM rotation is pretty easy, since if you only keep up your 3 stacks (which is not hard with good gear), your Pet does 50% of your entire damage, without you doing anything. So yeah, with low gear BM might be harder than other specs, but since good gear is readily available by now, this point is mute.
    - BM is especially easy in dungeons, because if you just keep up your 3 stacks and press multishot every 4 seconds, you will do more damage than many other classes, who have to juggle Dots, switch targets every second cast, are dependant on cooldowns, etc. Again, your pet does most of your work for you.
    - BM is mobile af. It has no hardcasts, does not have to be in (often more dangerous) melee range and on top of that has build in movement abilities and higher movement speed than most other ranged classes.
    - BM has consistant damage with little ramp up
    - They have comparatively pretty good utiliy

Overall, BM is not the easiest class in WoW. DHs take that spot imo. But with good enough gear, there is little effort required to do well as BM.

Another thing with is also a benefit of the BM hunter is the offensive cooldowns. These are on very short CDs which means that you are not required to plan very much ahead. It's the same thing with the Outlaw Rogue. You can just pop the cooldowns whenever they are off CD without having to think too much about it. And if you use the CDs at the wrong time, then it's not good of course, but since they are back very soon any way it's not a dissatser like it is for other specs in the game.

I hate offensive CDs which applies to the target instead of the player.

I'll just mention that only a bad DH will press everything on CD. There are some similarities between BM Hunter and Havoc DH, revolving around Kill Command/Bestial Wrath and Blade Dance/Eye Beam. So timing is often a factor in what button you press for the most optimal dps. The only real difference between BM and Havoc is that BM has a stacking buff to manage, which becomes easier to do with gear.
