Looking at news and it seems like germany has a second outbreak now.

Now if history is right, it should be more deadly that 1.st.

3.8K dead people... yep, clearly genocide, barely any Swedes left.

Let's cut back on the drama a bit, shall we?

Though I guess you could call it: "Gerocide", since they seem to want to get rid of elderly folks.

    It's geronticide.

    Also, minorities are disproportionately represented.

By '41, nazi Germany had killed fewer Jews and other minorities in relative comparison.

    % of what dead?

Because it is not % of the population*, france, italy, spain, belgium, uk, these seem to beat them there on the list (and one or two others of course)

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#news

    * Obviously the numbers are per million

    the relevant part is
deaths per million inhabitants per day on a rolling seven-day average between May 13 and May 20.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

It's astonishing how devalued a human life is.
4k people died is a tragedy, 4k families, give or take, lost a person who loved.
We have failed as societies in so many levels.

Do not attribute ethic values to things that have none.
It does not qualify as genocide, because genocide is targeted, a virus is not.

I get that it is horrible for the families involved but I really dislike the hyperbole and theatrics displayed by certain forum members.

Did Sweden fail to protect the vulnerable? Absolutely.
Should there be consequences for the people in power? Definitely, if the Swedes want that.

Sweden's actions go beyond just "not protecting the vulnerable".

Germany two weeks after relaxes lockdown and having Football match shows really promising results, that's amazing news, looks like soon we are past this horrible virus.

Just to add to my comment, by no means I'm saying we should relax and not do our best to control it, but news like this and overall world trend seems to be good. There seems to be some light at the end of this horrible disaster.

In Japan, where only advice was given out, and it has been left up to the citizens to decide how to handle the situation, including businesses having the option to stay open if they want too.. they have only confirmed 784 deaths. Forget the Governments, Japan clearly shows how much more mature their citizinary is and their ability to adapt and respond to such events. Considering they have some of the most densely populated cities as well, the fact they have even hit a thousand deaths is remarkable.

    New York - Population (approx.) 23million, Deaths - 22,976.

Tokyo - Population (approx.) 13 million, Deaths 284.

By overall world trend you mean the highest recorded amount of daily new cases just yesterday?

Fact is, Japan due to its low air quality in their cities, they are use to wearing masks all the time, so its business as usual for them to wear them.

    Western countries not so much.

Have you ever been there? Because they don't wear anti particulate masks (very easily recognizable from surgical masks) for the low air quality (which even in Tokyo is nowhere as bad as Beijing), they wear surgical masks when they have the a cold or the flu to avoid infecting others.

It's not about the kind of mask. It's the willingness to wear one...
I'll be jogging in an hour. And I won't be wearing one.

Pfft...some of the EU perspective tend to obsess over a paltry few... I mean a world war was started over one.
