Protests around the White House get violent, barricades are breached. which I'll admit is something I didn't think would happen.

    DC police were on site.

Yesterday, I posted that Trump lied about the police not being allowed to get involved by the DC mayor. That was a lie. There have been no retractions or thank-you's from Trump in the last 24 hours. It's all the Space-X stuff (which makes sense of course), criticizing NY for not letting NY cops do their job (so, who wants to bet that's a lie too?) and criticizing Minneapolis for not calling the National Guard sooner -- claiming there would be no damage if they had, no really, Trump loves him some hypotheticals.

"What about the part where he re-tweeted that Minneapolis mayor, saying 80% of the protestors were from out-of-state?"

Oh, that? The mayor walked it back while Trump went on to say crossing state lines to incite violence was a FEDERAL CRIME. Trump really needs some kind of shadowy paid-protestor bigly yuge rigged conspiracy to exist, that somehow he's not part of and it's keeping him down despite having all the power and everything going perfectly if he runs everything.

Which is the language dictators use.

Not only related, but double related: it's time for Guess the Speaker! The subject is Trump.

This is like Charlottesville all over again. He speaks and he makes it worse. There are times when you should just be quiet. And I wish that he would just be quiet.

Or if he can't be silent, if there is somebody of good sense and good conscience in the White House, put him in front of a teleprompter and pray that he reads it and at least says the right things, because he is making it worse.
    "Clearly some commie librul traitor."

    The mayor of Atlanta, yes.

    "...isn't she a--"

Dedicated public servant with her constituents' interests at heart? Yes.

"I was going to say n--"

    DUDE!

"Next in line after NC for the RNC, jeez."

Oh. Yes, there has been talk about the RNC moving to Atlanta if NC continued their rules about masks and social distancing in gatherings -- something Trump does not want. Well, considering what the mayor of Atlanta just said on TV on purpose, I have to wonder...what's the next backup plan?

"What about Pence's state of Indiana?"

Seems unlikely. It seems that cases are on the rise with a spike literally yesterday of 893 new cases and 13 deaths, and various state and local officials don't seem to have a re-opening schedule yet, preferring to let the situation lead the date and not the other way around.

"Wow, I wonder what Indiana will do next. I suppose they'll --"

It's his typical "prey on the ignorance of his base" shtick. He accuses someone of not doing something WHILE THEY ARE FUCKING DOING IT and when it's reported that they are doing the thing they were already doing Trump gets credit for making them do it. I don't know if he's lying, which he probably is, or if he genuinely doesn't know what's going on.

Like you keep saying, neither trait is redeemable.

You mean Phase One? Good news, Trump stamped out all the embers. If the deal he was trying to make was in fact worse, him intentionally killing it is not good news, any more than me saying "I was going to murder those four policemen, but then I didn't" makes me a good person.

Oh, so they are using the chilean method of targeting the people who's reporting the riots

Edit: can someone enlighten me about some videos circulating the web about the national guard targeting and shooting houses?

It's time once again for Guess the Speaker!

I don’t think there is systemic racism. I think 99.9 percent of our law enforcement officers are great Americans.

I think they're amazing great Americans, and they are my heroes, but you know what there are some bad apples in there. There are some bad cops that are racist cops, and there are cops that maybe don't have the right training, and some that are just bad cops and they need to be rooted out
    "Um...someone in law enforcement?"

Well, yes, he was in JAG. White House NSA O'Brien was of course talking about recent events.

    "I mean...is he wrong?"

Well, let's throw this back up:

We have people coming into the country or trying to come in, we're stopping a lot of them, but we're taking people out of the country. You wouldn't believe how bad these people are.

These aren't people. These are animals
    "But--"

When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people
    "But--"

And you remember what I said? They’re sending, I mentioned words — I won’t even mention them tonight because there’s a lot of young people here — but I mentioned words and everyone thought it was wonderful. And then about two days later and people said, ‘did he say this, did he say that?’ Guess what, what I said is peanuts compared to what turns out to be the truth. It’s peanuts.
So O'Brien is a hypocrite. You cannot say a few bad actors give the rest a bad name, while also working with Trump, who has flat-out demonized Hispanic immigrants as disease-ridden animal rapists.

And guess what? Neither can anyone else in the rabid fanbase. Unless you can link yourself, yes your own words specifically, denouncing Trump's "they're rapists" comments (or anything in that vein) from pre-2020, you have forfeit your ability to say "not all cops are racists" even if you think it's true. You had the chance to say "just because some XXX doesn't mean all are XXX" for years now, and if you didn't take it, you lose the ability now.

Sorry, O'Brien. I don't make the rules. I just see to it they're enforced.

I, by contrast, can say "not all cops are racists" all I want. And further, I can post it. Here's a video of a Michigan sheriff marching with protestors. Peaceful protestors, mind you, but protestors nonetheless.

The best part about that is the dipshits with the "they warned you multiple times" comments getting thousands of likes. I wonder if it's even legal to fire on people standing on their own porch...

Wasn't too long ago we had Trumpkins screaming about the INJUSTICE!!!!!!!! of wearing masks, stay at home, and social distancing orders...and here we are defending the police shooting people with paint canisters for standing outside their front door.

2007 lawsuit said the president of the Minneapolis police union wore a 'white power' patch on his motorcycle jacket and discriminated against officers of color
    https://www.insider.com/president-mi...mpression=true

I posted in GEN-OT, but maybe it should have been here.

If you remember Bob Kroll is President of the Minneapolis Police union and was in the news when the Minneapolis police could not wear their police uniforms at the rally. This of course resulted in Kroll creating the red 'Cops for Trump' shirts.

Well a problem with Kroll. Shocking but he might be a racist.

.In the complaint, plaintiffs said that the current president of the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis, Bob Kroll, openly wore a "white power" patch on his motorcycle jacket.

So China and Hong Kong are united...in calling out Trump for his recent press conference.

What kind of fat orange idiot shows up 45 minutes late to a 10-minute speech and doesn't answer questions?
No, no, what they really said was this:

China’s state media pushed back, saying this would hurt the United States more than China.

“The baton of sanctions that the United States is brandishing will not scare Hong Kong and will not bring China down,” China’s Communist Party mouthpiece, the People’s Daily, wrote in a commentary. It used the pen name “Zhong Sheng”, meaning “Voice of China”, often used to give the paper’s view on foreign policy issues.

The Global Times wrote, “China has already prepared for the worst. No matter how far the U.S. goes, China will keep its company.”

A Hong Kong government spokesman expressed regret the United States continued to “smear and demonise the legitimate rights and duty of our sovereign” to safeguard national security.

In a sign of diplomatic manoeuvring, the U.S. government said it would put one of its prime Hong Kong properties up for sale - a luxury residential complex worth up to HK$5 billion ($650 million).

A spokesman for the U.S. consulate in Hong Kong said this was part of a global programme that “reinforces the U.S. government’s presence in Hong Kong” through reinvestment in other areas.
"Well, what should Trump have done?"

Fortunately, that's not my job. I'm just here to point out Trump just gave up on Phase One and China's okay with that.

Is that Anonymous stuff posted anywhere on these forums or is it too "conspiracy theory" for it to be here? Understandable if it is, given the source, but I was curious what kind of proof they're giving for the claims they're making regarding Trump. Mods, please chime in if it's absolutely unacceptable. Obviously there's already plenty of concrete stuff to be critical of Trump for.

Shit, that's from April 2019, when

The President is inciting violence against a sitting Congresswoman—and an entire group of Americans based on their religion. It's disgusting. It's shameful. And any elected leader who refuses to condemn it shares responsibility for it.
Sorry! Sorry! I got my "Trump incites violence" dates mixed up. Let me try again.

If President Trump is serious about confronting China’s human rights abuses, he must work with Congress to craft an effective, robust strategy. His vague suggestions for confronting China’s actions are nothing new & do not articulate a real or serious strategy.
I swear, it's in here somewhere.

I'm not paying too much attention to what the President says. I kind of ignore what President Trump says.

The President of the United States should bring dignity to the office that he serves. He should be a unifying force in our country. We have seen that with Democratic and Republican presidents all along. They have seen their responsibility to be the President of the United States, to unify our country and not to fuel the flame
THERE we go. See, I was looking for "fan the flames" not "fuel the flames". Totally different inciting of violence.

Ok, some heads up for any MAGAT poster/lurker. Antifa (and by extension the left) is not an organized force or political party. Is a disparate collection of ideals, all of which are anti fascists. You can have ancaps and communists share the same ideals of anti fascism, while disagreeing on pretty much everything else.

    It is.

Trump announces the US will designate Antifa as a terrorist organization. He has pointed to far-left groups as responsible for many violent US protests.

Now I won't get too much into Antifa. I believe they are more of a problem than anything. A terrorist organization? The gas lighting of Trump trying to blame others and always divisive is unparallel.

    You are (most likely) Antifa.
The president wants to designate YOU a terrorist.

Team Deplorable strikes again. November can't come here quickly enough. And yet I worry what happens if he loses.
