Absolutely nothing that I can think of. However, I can think of many things that make me feel ashamed, angry, embarassed, frustrated and disappointed.

Inventing the concepts of: the Sciences, Philosophy, Democracy, Mathematics, Ethics, Sculpting, Theatre and proceeding to teach these things to the rest of Europe.

Inventing one of, if not THE most beautiful language in the world, where meaning comes from the essence of the word itself through the letters used to spell it, rather than giving a meaning to words "simply because".

Having the 2 most epic stories humanity has ever told, those being Homer's Iliad and Homer's Odyssey.

Crushing the Persian Empire in all its glory, first at the mountain pass of Thermopylae, then on the sandy beaches of Marathon, and lastly at the Naval battle of Salamina.

Owning 3/7 of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (those being the Temple of Artemis, the Chryselephantine statue of Zeus and the Colossus of Rhodes).

Thwarting the Ottoman Empire in a bloody, long war of Indepedance that started in 1821.

Defeating the Italians after 6 months of bloody combat during WWII, (my very own grandfathers fought in that one), causing Hitler to pause his plans with invading Russia in order to come down and deal with the tiny country that Mussolini could not capture. Proceeding to massacre Hitler's forces so badly that, even though we lost and got occupied, the guy never used Paratroopers ever again in any military mission.

Inventing the Pap Test, a medical examination that has saved hundreds of thousands of women around the globe, by locating vaginal cancer at its earliest stages.

Having one of the weakest economies in Europe, yet dealing with COVID in a way our Northern bullies (Netherlands, Germany etc) could not even dream of.

The list goes on, and on, and on, and on....

I'm proud of everything the UK has achieved tbh. people can hate all they want. they can say what they like.. this entire world was formed not by the losers, but by winners. every country that cried about losing their land to the brits, was the winner themselves over others at one point. the UK was just the best at it.

pretty much every country has its dark parts, but largely the UK/France/Spain/Holland made the world we live in today in the west and I'm proud of that

The balance between Socialist values and Capitalism, although the right-wing parties are chipping away at it relentlessly, as if we don't have an entire fucking country serving as a warning example of what comes of pure Capitalism.

Plenty of things I'm proud of, others I'm not. Still wouldn't want to live anywhere else though.

Let the haters hate bro, the UK has a ton of shit to be proud of. University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, the SAS, the RAF, the Industrial Revolution, the list goes on. On a personal note, you guys were the only country that accepted to give us the loan we needed to start our War of Independance, cause Lord Byron was a BOSS. (we actually have statues of that dude here in Greece). I'm not even gonna start mentioning personalities such as Sir Ian McKellan, Sir Christopher Lee, Dame Maggie Smith, metal/punk/rock music, RUGBY (!!!!)...thank the gods, all of em, that the UK exists.

I like the history; it is quite an inspiring and emotional story towards which I have some kind of attachment, but I am sure I would have felt the same thing had I been of any other nationality. Other than that I don't feel particularly entitled to be proud of anything that has been accomplished by my nation, because of a simple fact - I had nothing to do with that.

people protesting things a police officer did and went to prison for, by burning down businesses and looting. pretending to care about what happened, but really just being scum. the best ones are the small businesses that are already struggling. those are the best to burn down.

killing other police officers over it that could have very well been some of the best people around for all they knew.

wait... these arent things to be proud of? whoops. um.... well, nothing then, i suppose. i must hate my nation and many of the people in it.

As another poster said, each nation has its own dark chapters in its history. I for one like focusing on the good parts. What's great about the U.S, if you ask me?

Harvard/MIT/Yale/Stanford/any other Ivy league Uni's I'm forgetting off the top of my head

Massive world-personalities were American - Teddy Roosevelt, Rear Admiral Grace Hopper, John Meynard Keynes, Paul Krugman, Marshall Mathers.
You're the only country in the world that has managed to become the United States of XXXXX, meaning, the intricate political system of having local governors + an over-seeing Federal Government, and actually managing to make it work.

That last part is a pretty big miss on the best of days and due to what is currently happening now clearly is failing.

The cohesion. The trust in society and the trust in the state and each other.
