No, a samurai is a japanese concept, and the WoW monk clearly is chinese inspired.

Please, read up on the actual samurai of feudal japan. They were heavily armored, horseback-riding, landlords sworn to defend the Shogun and supply the army with soldiers... They. Were. Knights. Not ninjas; not monks - knights. They fought using spears, swords, bow and arrow and other weapons - not by kicking or using their fists and "chi" is a chinese concept of spiritual energy and life; not a weapon.
