You understand that this supports my argument? They dropped him while the accusations where in the room, but he had no long lasting consequences due to this. And while they are current, he was still able to gather a lucrative movie role he himself wanted to play and contacted the director for. The narrative is that false accusations are ruining lifes. The reality is, that the few false accusations that happen are rarely have major consequences while women going public with their accusations actually helped to identify predators who were active for years or even decades.

I just find it interesting how quickly many are to throw someone under the bus on hearsay.

I would say the sad part is, that currently, the most many women who fall prey to predators can hope for is them loosing some sponsorship.

I mean, outrage channels and gossip channels are shit, but lets be honest, how many of them are actually feminist when it comes to video gaming? Most of the channels I'm aware in any nerdsphere tend to be on the right to far right and mainly concerned with minorities and women being allowed to exist in their media ruining it somehow. And there isn't really much of a cancel culture. Most of the time when such accusations come up, the most that happens is that the person in question has to lay low for a period at most spanning months, until they are back in business again, outside of the few cases where a conviction actually happens.

Hell, James Gunn was cancelled due to an alt-right troll harder than the majority of men facing accusations of sexual misconduct from women. And you also have to understand, false accusations are incredibly rare statistically speaking and that very few women would go through the shit of publicly stating that a man sexually harassed or even raped them just for fun. Or would you find it entertaining to show yourself to the entire world wide web as a rape victim?

The problem with your argument that this is the police job is, that the police doesn't do the job. Very often, women who try to report that they were raped are just send away and actual lawcases are incredibly rare, compared to the number of women who suffered sexual harassment or assault once in their lifes. Women go public on twitter with this cases, because the system won't do shit.
