As to the shooting incidents increasing, where are you getting that data? When I try to find some I see people saying it without offering corresponding evidence. How much have they increased?

In the context of shootings for Seattle in general increasing year over year, and it's not completely unusual for shootings to cluster in a small time period when the numbers are so low. I notice that that still puts the total for Capitol Hill at 2 for the year, and roughly halfway through the year violent crime looks like it's on track to come in lower than 2019, assuming next 6 months play out like the past 6 (will of course have a better picture once the dust settles). That said - do you know how often the data updates? Obviously those two shootings aren't yet logged, so I'll be interested to see how the stats change once they update next.

If there are just a few bad apples, then why do cops who do speak out about what they see face so much harassment by their departments? If only a few are bad and the overwhelming majority are good, why can't they speak out about wrongdoing?
