You don't actually see them as people and that's your problem. If you saw them as people, you would see them as a group that had negative experiences with the trans community and are trying to legitimize their experiences and band together to do so because the mainstream media would lynch them for daring suggest that trans people are capable of shitty things as well as cis people. If you saw them as people, you would feel sympathy or at least understand where they're coming from. But what you see them as is some dark lord sending knights of evil from his castle of darkness to repress trans people.

Gender and sex aren't "one and the same". Gender is hocus pocus bullshit made up by people who failed at classical philosophy and rode the wave of postmodernism to feel accomplished. Biological sex is exactly what the term implies. XX chromosomes or XY chromosomes. It isn't related to anything but what your body is like. Gender tries to force some bullshit personality concept on top of it where your personality either conforms to your sex or does not. Gender essentialism would be saying that women always have the personality features that correspond to the gender of "woman". Gender denialism is saying that gender is compelete and utter BS and that all people are unique and not defined by their biological sex.
