I'm not sure if I'm overthinking, but it feels like all the games I play have faster matchmaking since the lockdown started.. Does anyone else think so as well?

Game sales have gone up considerably... even among non-gamers. Not rocket science, gaming is great for passing the time.
I checked a few card games, such as YuGiOh Duel Links and Shadowverse, on Steam Spy.
They are NOT up.
I think only the most popular games, such as COD, are up.
Yes, i do think so
Yeah... also due to the fact more people become unemployed suddenly, so those high profile games increase in popularity.
Mobile games are making bunch of $ too.
It shouldn't be surprising. When you're forced to stay home and there's nothing to do, video games are the best thing pass the time and escape from this shitty world we live in.
- "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black" - Jo Bodin, BLM supporter
- "I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. The kids used to come up and reach in the pool & rub my leg down so it was straight & watch the hair come back up again. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap, and I love kids jumping on my lap...” - Pedo Joe
I wouldn't call the people playing animal crossing, candy crush or most mobile games "gamers".
Not in my experience, strong bonds can form over the internet despite the lack of "channels" that are present in RL encounters - and they can lead to real life encounters which wouldn't otherwise happen. I've participated in about 15 RL guild meetings from various MMOs, one of which led to a 9 months relationship (that's relatively long for my standards). Another one resulted in a friendship that's now a little over 10 years long.
As far as the respect for people part goes, how to put it... if you have very low expectations in those regards to begin with, you won't risk disappointment, but you might end up positively surprised.
Honestly as shitty as this whole pandemic is being a web developer or any kind of programmer for that matter has had their jobs more than secured, everyone needs a web presence now since online traffic like tripped world wide. No shortage of work for us now or in the foreseeable future as everything is moving to the internet.
candy crush is my favorite game
I think the lockdown really brought new players. With more people inside their houses, it's only natural for them to look for ways to entertain one's self! It's really normal.
