WoW Shadowlands Given Rating for Xbox Series X in Brazil, Classic Ahn'Qiraj Preview

WoW Shadowlands Given Rating for Xbox Series X in Brazil
Twitter user Gematsu pointed out today that Shadowlands was given a rating in Brazil today along with PC. This might very well just be an error or related to the controller support found in the beta, as Ion said in a past interview that there was no plans to port WoW to consoles.

WoW Classic: The Ahn'Qiraj War Effort Begins July 28

But something far more sinister lurks behind Ahn'Qiraj's walls: the Old God C'Thun, an ancient entity whose pervasive evil had suffused Azeroth since time immemorial.

    Join the War Effort

Supplies are needed to fuel the war effort against the sinister forces of Ahn’Qiraj. You’ll need to work alongside other members of your faction to contribute the resources needed open the ancient citadel’s gates and begin your siege on the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj and the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj.

Both Horde and the Alliance will need to bring a steady stream of supplies to the Valley of Spirits in Orgrimmar or to the Military Ward in Ironforge. Each turn-in will reward Ahn’Qiraj War Effort Supplies containing useful items and Alliance Commendation Signets or Horde Commendation Signets, which can be used to gain reputation with your faction.

While many of the necessary supplies can be obtained as loot drops or purchased from the Auction House, having a profession that helps you acquire these supplies will also come in handy. Here is a list of items you’ll need to set your sights on collecting.

    Horde:

    Alliance:

    Both Factions:

Once the resources for the War Effort have been gathered by both the Horde and the Alliance, supply chains will make their way from Ironforge and Orgrimmar to Cenarion Hold in Silithus. Once these resources reach Cenarion Hold, players who are on the quest line to create the Scepter of the Shifting Sands will be able to undertake the “Bang a Gong!” quest in order to complete it.

    Befriending Dragons

During the War Effort, players will also be able to begin earning reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu by turning in Silithid Carapace Fragments. You’ll need to turn in the Head of the Broodlord Lashlayer to begin the quest “The Path of Righteous” or be deputized by another player who has Proxy of Nozdormu before these fragments will begin to drop for you.

Who Will Rise as Scarab Lord?

Players will also be able to begin a quest series to create the Scepter of the Sands, which will enable them to ultimately ring the gong on the realm they are on. The first player on each realm who completes the quest and rings the gong will become the realm’s “Scarab Lord” and receive the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal, which will summon a ridable Qiraji battle tank that can be used in the outdoor world as well as within the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj.

Players who complete the Scepter of the Sands quest chain and ring the gong in the first 10 hours of the gong being rung initially will also receive the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal.

Any other players who complete the quest line past the 10–hour period won’t receive the mount, but will still receive rewards from the “Treasure of the Timeless One” quest, which includes one of four epic weapons, experience, reputation, and a little money for your pocket.

    Pushing Back the Enemy

Once the gong is rung on a realm, it will mark the beginning of a 10-hour war heralding the arrival of Anubisath and Qiraji warriors, which can be found in the Barrens and Thousand Needles (for lower-level players) and Silithus, Tanaris, and Feralas (for higher-level players). Defending against these incursions will give players a chance to earn gold, experience, and reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu, along with a higher chance for rare drops.

    Opening of the Gates

At the completion of the 10-hour war, the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj (a 20-player raid dungeon) and the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (a 40-player raid dungeon) will open, allowing players access to the dangers and treasures within.

With Microsoft really pushing xbox pc comparability and the game pass it would make sense. Consoles have had keyboard accessories for a while and its not like most wow classes need more key binds then a controller can provide anyways. The lack of Addons would make it harder to play for sure but still doable.

But it likely is just an error for the game having support for Xbox controllers which are the "default" windows controller. If it does happen though it would be nice if Blizzard allowed any platform. I'd love to play Diablo on xbox for some couch co-op but don't want to rebuy the game. Biggest reason why my xbox sits idle. I buy most games on PC.

It's already been updated to no longer include the xbox platform.

It would make alot of sense tbh. The difference between consoles and pc's has almost evaporated. Especially xbox which runs a version of the Windows 10 core anyway so it's not like Play station that runs a custom Linux OS based on free BSD that would require a whole new port.

I don't think people realise just how little difference there is between consoles and pc's nowadays.

Or someone just filled out the form wrong.

Ask Electronic Arts about how big the difference between next generation consolses and PCs. They won't release the next generation FIFA on PC, because in they opinion PCs aren't as powerfulls as next generation consolses, so PCs can'r run the next gen fifa. They did the same sh.t when X360 came out, and even when the Xbox One arrived.

TBH it's a joke. The "next gen" consolses will only be current generation PCs in fact.

Would be odd that the expansion they decide to add more buttons to our action bars is the one where they put WoW on consoles.

makes sense tbh, with the wide variations between peoples pc's vs the 1-3 versions of the same console, its much easier to optimize a game.
the way they word it gives a mixed message though. (if your quote is accurate)

It's less that and more the development time involved. If you make a game for a console, you only have to worry about making it work with one or two sets(currently 7 maximum, counting new gen of hardware. When you make a game for Windows/Mac, you have to get it to work with an astronomical amount more. It's easy to port a PC game to consoles unless it doesn't have controller support. All you have to do is limit the video settings you already have. If you don't have video settings, and the game is made to run on 1-7 sets of hardware, it's a lot more complicated to get it to work, even if you just count building the UI for it.

Short version: Not every PC is the same, and this is a massive problem when porting a game designed for consoles to PC. In other words, porting from PC to console and porting from console to PC are not comparable in any meaningful way.

Not sure how well WoW would play on a controller for anything but the most casual content, still, would be nice if they gave an option for it.

Damn, I was hoping they'd change the AQ turnins just to mess with the zoomers. Ah well.

Not when they have to dumb down game mechanics even further to make the game officially supported on consoles its not.

WoW coming to console or someone ticking the wrong checkmark.

I'm going to go with the latter.

I assumed they already did that, and I thought that the entire reason for BFA and the GCD change was to dumb it down enough to get it on consoles. That was and is just a guess, but I do play a lot of games on console, and I wouldn't say WoW(mainstream, not high end) has more difficult mechanics than most of the games I play on said console.

More buttons, yes, but they have done some cool things with UI on controls lately. Diablo 3, for example, is much better on PC, but I was really impressed with the control mapping setup on the PS4. I would actually say that Blizzard is one of the few companies that has really done a great job of porting PC UI to consoles just going by Diablo 3. I've never played Overwatch on console, but I bet it is a top notch port. IMO, Blizz dev isn't great now in some way(ideas) but they seem to have plenty of human resources to make sure their games feel right on console.

All that said, again I "wish" it was true, but I doubt it. It will probably never happen(wow on console).

I don't "believe" personally, I just wish. The reason isn't something to do with pc gamers and their special controls though, lol.

I don't think WoW would make them enough money on consoles(to cover dev costs), and I think if they thought it would make them "enough" money, it would be in the works. If it flopped on consoles, it could be an embarrassment and hurt the game, so I doubt we'll see it.

    Happens every single generation.
