McConnell's balls are in a vise. He doesn't want to lose his seat, but he doesn't want to lose his leadership position in the Senate either. He needs to placate his voter base, and placate vulnerable Republicans. He can work the former. But the latter are getting beat up.

McConnell's balls in a vise has a third party, and it has big hammer instead; monied interests financing him.
Businesses and yes, foreign interests, neither of which wants him to lose power. I firmly believe they are the ones pulling his strings. Fortunately they seem to be competitive interests.

Trump is a real estate tycoon, with a shit ton of business in hospitality, like his hotels and golf courses. This isn’t 2015, where you need to Kevin Bacon politicians to the special interest...

He's "Moscow Mitch" for a reason. It's those "other strings" attached however that are more my focus since they demand capitulation.

What’s the reason he is “Moscow Mitch”?

    Republicans don't care about people.
I mean food security is the least of our worries

They don’t agree with your bestie on how to help Americans suffering so they don’t care about Americans suffering. God I hope most of the voting base has a more developed opinion than that.

To add; McConnell blocks two election security bills

Mind pointing to proof they actually care then?

Americans getting to continue eating far too much red meat than is healthy has absolutely nothing to do with food security.

In fact if you cared about food security you'd welcome a reduction in meat consumption given how environmentally damaging cattle rearing is.

Agreed. I want to see his evidence that republicans put average Americans first.

I don't see anyone posting specifically about meat.

I mean there’s the five previous aid packages. But they don’t care, clearly.

I have actually, have you? Disagreeing on the method doesn’t mean the goal isn’t the same. More people need to remember that.

So then I'm sure you can tell us the republican negotiating demands that made it into those packages that were designed to help the average American.

    List them for us.

No, the goals are very different... remember your “too bad” reply? That means goals are very different... Trump, the billionaire tycoon who owns gold courses and hotels, wants to pretend covid is nothing? I wonder why... greatest mystery of all time...

FBI building renovation and subsidies for hospitality industry?

FBI building renovation and subsidies for hospitality industry?
Subsidies to a performing arts centre? I can do this too. Your name is on the bill? Then you advocated for it. Pretty sure there were lots of republicans voting to pass the aid packages as well. Nice try though.

Republicans have proven time and again that their loyalty is to big business and not the American people.
So no Americans work for these businesses? No Americans shop at these businesses? Am I not typing this on an iPhone from one of these businesses? It’s disingenuous at best and lying at worst to say Republicans don’t want to help Americans.

Bear in mind that McConnell has already come out and said that there are 15-20 Republican senators that aren't won over by any the gop bills being passed around.
