Those numbers are very confusing and perhaps inflated.

From what I could find:
Most of those 12 million jobs just seem to be logistics, so not really actual "manufacturing jobs", but more related to warehousing and transport.
Sales representatives also seems to be a good junk of those 12 million... I don't see assembly line / manufacturing line work even in the top 30.

Well, it appears the 29 million is pretty much a inflated number also. lol! And your link does not provide a source of their information. So, for now at at least, going to stick with the official numbers.

There's going to be a lot of angry and bored football fans this fall. A bad look for the encumbant president.

And there's no fake Executive Order that will bail out this situation.

I checked out ESPN about how Major League Baseball is doing. There were more stories about how teams and the league were dealing with the virus than about the games themselves. If baseball can't keep the virus in check, there is no way that football can. And 50k plus in the stands is pretty close to a guaranteed disaster from a virus standpoint.


Major League Baseball has not worked, opening schools in Georgia is not working out well, football won't work either. We just have to accept a new normal.

Could you post a poll showing these results? I am noticing some substantial differences in the online world that I see. And every bit of it is going against Trump. There seems to be a real chance that he annihilates the republican party.

But it is certainly not a guarantee. So seeing signs of hope would be a nice thing to see

What is suprising you there? That is exactly what @Milchshake posted, just in graph form.

There appear to be at least 2 recent elections where college voters went Democrat based on that graph, Obama in 08 and Hillary by a +9 margin in 2016. That's all I was posting to correct.

Where do you get your 29 million working in retail services? According to the US Dept. of Labor..as of 2018, a little over 15 million work in retail services and 12 million in manufacturing and another 7 million in construction. The largest fields however which employ the most are Medical, Professional and business services and State local employments.

because by my metric hotel and hospitality are also included in that list so combine the 2 you get around that number, and i guess if we also wanted to include other working people who dont fit the "rustic factory worker" model you could also include healthcare workers and you get above 30 million

and also man look at professional and business service

In general, I think fear of covid is much higher on the left than the right, so we can probably expect covid to suppress the democrat vote more than the republican vote. One issue is democrat groups hire buses on election day to shuttle people in the city from their homes and apartments to the voting centers and voters aren't going to want to get on those buses this year from fear of covid. That could suppress the democrat vote TREMENDOUSLY.

The folks I've talked to see voting in this election as very important. They're just planning on wearing a mask and gloves when they go out to vote.

Even states like WA, who have tried and true systems in place for all mail in voting, are bracing for impact. I can't imagine how bad it's going to be for the states that don't have experience with this.
