So was it Nolan, the studio, or both sucking themselves off to the idea that their movies are so special that they have to be seen in theaters despite global health concerns?

One of things is entertainment. The other two are for getting food and travel. Slightly different.

Saw it today. Loved it. Cinematography was amazing, music was excellent and great acting. Had high expectations and wasn't let down at all.

Watched it today. Was close to 3 hours of proper entertainment. The opening scene is so good. The sound and music just hit you in the face and the expectation just goes up from there. An opening scene Nolan worthy. Cinematography as mentioned above is great. Watch this in the Cinemas! We were two people in it lol. Couldn't have been more than 7 people in the whole cinema building, including staff. The air was delightful in there so I had a good time at the cinemas. It is probably safer to be at the cinemas now than being in the store. Got my name and number written down as well in case of tracking. So it was pretty well arranged.

Anyway, the acting was good too. Washington and Pattinson have a nice chemistry imo. Plot is well enough explained, and it is pretty much straight forward. A nice plus for someone from Norway like me that there is bunch of scenes that is supposed to be in Oslo(and some are), and even my hometown is mentioned as well, though it's probably shot somewhere else :P

I saw the movie in Tønsberg yesterday, and there were in total 9 people watching it, in the biggest 'room' they have there. So, I'd say it was pretty safe indeed.

That's everyone's choice to make. Plenty of people are going to work daily, kids are going at school, going to a theatre for 2 hours doesn#t look more dangerous than any other reason to leave your home.

It's your choice if you want to stay home, it's theirs if they want to see a great movie in a location respecting every sanitary rules one can imagine.

Yeah, as far as I could see and understand the airport scene is the one scene where they are not in Oslo when they are supposed to be in Oslo, well the scenes outside anyway. They were "outside of the coast of Trondheim" in a scene, my homecity

That first scene, this music and the sounds in that scene just makes it all. It's so good for the atmosphere. For me and the one guy down there 6 meters away from me lol. Love those Nolan intro scenes, several others of his has the same. Some of my favorite parts in a movie is how the first scene is made and when it's a Nolan movie, you know it's good.

Saw it today, Why didn't the transport guards call for backup when they were obviously been boxed in and are there two Kats in the "present" now, the one that jumped off the boat and the one who arrived with her son? For the first point I don't see which Transport Guards
For second point, well there are two Kats but only for a small period, as the "original" will probably loop back in time too at the same point as the first (which was here original inversion point).

I saw the movie last week, don't know how cinemas work in your countries but here in Portugal movie theaters only sell tickets by leaving a couple of spaces between each group of people that buys the ticket, both to the sides of you on the same row and the rows in front and behind you, it's done automatically through their own system so no one is seated next to someone else by accident, except when you buy tickets together (like going with your family or girlfriend). I've been going to the cinema with my gf since they've opened 2months ago and we feel pretty safe inside, most times we're the only ones in there, or there's another couple 2 or 3 rows in front of us.

Not this time though, cinema was "packed" (as packed as you can be with the safe distance I described above), there were probably up to 100 people in the theater on the largest room in that cinema. The movie itself was ok, I enjoyed the last part where the 2 teams go fight the bad guys, one inverted and another .. well, not inverted. Was really cool to see how both teams interacted with each other. Still, I felt like the movie over-complicated simple concepts, the actors themselves talked as if they all were physicists performing lectures to a scientific community, and it was never really explained how the inversion worked and how sometimes it affected only objects like bullets, and others it affected peoples. Nontheless, it's a typical Christopher Nolan movie, so just go there, enjoy an action packed movie and don't over think the details of how and why

For those who have watched Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker in IMAX, you have seen the "Tenet Prologue". An entire scene from the next Christopher Nolan's movie which should arrive mid 2020 in theaters. There was already a one-minute Teaser, which was never released online, before Hobbs&Shaw this summer.

We don't know much of this movie so far, except its basics (IMDB: "The plot is currently unknown. The project is described as an action epic revolving around international espionage, time travel, and evolution."), but damn that prologue was intense.

I'm not fluent enough in English to describe the scene properly, but someone on Reddit described it.

Saw the movie this afternoon. I'm a huge fan of Nolan's - both brothers. But someone fucked up on the editing - the dialogue was difficult to understand at least 1/3 of the time. Not sure what happened on this one - I don't recall that being an issue with any of his other films.

Been wanting to watch this film. Difficult how so, loud sounds drowning out voices? I struggle to hear what people say if there's too much ambiance around.

It's still worth watching, because...you know...Christoper Nolan. So definitely go see it (btw, I took serious precautions in the theater, wiped down plastic parts with Pruell, masked into the theater and through concessions, etc - and I had an IMAX theater practically to myself - on a Saturday afternoon).

Re sound:

The music and background sounds drowned out the dialogue in a number of scenes - and it wasn't just one thing. Ocean sound, music, etc. And for plot reasons some of the main characters are wearing breathing masks, and the dialogue is difficult at best during those scenes. I don't know enough about the details of how movies are made, but Nolan used a relatively inexperienced Film Editor (15 total projects in IMDB) for Tenet, and it was the first time in a LONG time Nolan didn't use Lee Smith. Again, no idea if that's who to blame - but someone fucked up, and I sincerely hope that it's repairable, because I would like to hear all the dialogue at some point.

For bias reference - Interstellar is perhaps my favorite movie (I've been reluctant in the past to name THE ONE, but if I had to, that's what I would pick). So I truly admire Nolan's work. Just no idea what went wrong here.

Same here. I definitely didn't understand what people were saying at some points (but was quite easy to understand what they overall talked about). Train tracks scene at the beginning and the catamaran were probably the worst.
