Take a minute and stop, after wrath of the lich king and besides legion has anyone genuienly guessed the correct next expansion? Like was cata obvious? Was pandaland obvious? Was time traveling draenor obvious? legion WAS obvious, was BFA no and after beating nzoth was the shadowlands obvious? Hell no, so keep saying light vs void, chances are it will be an underwater murloc expansion.

If there would be Light/Void xpac, it surely will feature Kaaresh (Void featured) and AU Outland (Light Featured) , as well as etherials common race and new class.
Also scrapped in WoD, but reworked for 10.0 Talador Raid, raid in Kaaresh and maybe even Argus-like 10.3 Naaru Homeworld tier.

You know I've long wondered if they'd do something like they did with Hearthstone and Overwatch where if you have a level 60 Classic character and Retail character you get some reward for both games.

It's just a Holy variant of a new Netherdrake pet.

Also, IF we were to have a Light Expansion, it'll be about BOTH Light and Shadow. Reminder: SL is about Life/Death, while Legion was about Order/Disorder. There's almost NEVER been an expansion where we focused on just 1 cosmology. Cata, WoTLK, MoP, TBC, WoD, and BFA aren't really focused on the cosmic war, so they don't count.

Also going off that it won't even be next expansion then.

    WoD - Set up Legion
    Legion - Order VS Disorder
    BFA - Set up SL
    SL - Death VS Life
    10.0 - Set up 11.0
    11.0 - Light VS Void
    FFXIV - Maduin (Dynamis DC)

There is no indication whatsoever that Life is going to play role in Shadowlands. If anything, there is a very strong connection to Light already with Revendreth literally merging with Light realm and presence of Naaru there.

I really think you can't base this "pattern" thinking on just what... Legion?

    Yeah it can.

    Legion: Order Vs Disorder

BFA: Alliance Vs Horde Vs The Black Empire

    SL: Life Vs Death

    And 10.0: Light Vs Shadow

Besides, SL is 100% setting up Light Vs Shadow anyway, so who knows...

For the record, I actually think a Nathreza and fairly updated Light-Hijacked Outland is a reasonable patch cycle for Shadowlands. Because we really need all 6 cosmic forces to have shown their antagonistic sides before we go to war with all of them at once.

While there is definitely a very large Nathrezim footprint growing daily in Shadowlands with all these recent reveals, I highly doubt we will get to confront them directly just yet, aside from Denathrius, who will probably pull a Balnazaar on us anyway.

One word (a homonym at that) and we're already speculating on 10.0 before 9.0 has launched lol. There are about 52 things pointing towards light vs dark more than this. Old man anduin is gonna kick butt in 10.0.

  13. #33
    Nah... this doesn't add up.

Even though there are hints of the light, it has nothing to do with Outland.

I think the likely situation is that this will be a pet reward further in time to celebrate TBC coming to classic. Maybe at that time we will have a light themed patch and it fits in.

Oh yes, and people are in for a rude awakening if they think the final void lord expansion is coming soon.

  14. #34
Wrong: first as said before: next xpack = last ptr of the expansion cycle. This is absolutely an CLASSIC TBC pet when you reach 70, for the pre-event or just as a present when TBC classic get released to celebrate it with everyone even on the retail-server. With this they bring classic people to install retail, bring back retail-player because of an time-limited pet and overall it's just a pet and probably just a recolor with a few bits and shinies here and there.

AU-Draenor was just opened for the Brown Orcs and to show that the light is not better than void. But other than that i say: what happened in draenor stays in draenor; meaning we never see Yrel and others again. Their story is over.

Umm, what? There hasn't been anything in-game to indicate either Draenor or Outland dying - Outland itself is doing strong as we saw in that Saurfang/Thrall cinematic. Draenor also isn't dying, it just has genocidial zealots taking over the entire land.

"ALMOST NEVER" "EXCEPT EVERY PAST EXPANSION BESIDES LEGION, LEGION ONLY EXPANSION THAT MATTER".

Make up your mind. Still not top 10 for self-contradicting posts.

Exarch Orelis says: This once-fertile land is now lifeless dust. That's what your hate has done!
High Exarch Yrel yells: Your people are choking the life from this world... dooming the land to desiccation.
Grommash Hellscream yells: How can you be so blind, Yrel? It is the Light that has doomed this world!
EDIT: I wasn't talking about Outland but there is evidence that it too is dying.

As you are no doubt aware the state of Outland in our own timeline is constantly degrading.

Dragon whelp, okay, makes sense, we get plenty of those in different expacs.

Outland2 - Is this what the alternate draenor content looks like when extracted in the same way? Is it labeled outland2? Is it Draenor in the same place instead? Similarly, is the stuff for other expacs usually named like that with creature/expansion/description? We need to know more about how files are named to understand why this is significant.
It's sadly not that deep at all.

The way files are named has to do with the model, and at times the places they come from. At the time of BC's development, there was only one type of whelp in the files, which came in different colors. The new whelp model added was a type specific to Outland, so "dragonwhelpoutland" in the files. Makes sense, we all can get that.

The "2" is where it's not as mystical as it seems. In the files, they will add a 2 to models that are a new/higher res/altered version of an older model. For instance, the unicorns in Legion are "horse2" in the files. If a boss has two models, one would be "[bossname]" and the second would be "[bossname]2" - otherwise it will have another description, like void, corrupted, fel, injured, etc.

So, as far as the 2, following how they've done it before, it would be an altered or updated version of the netherwhelp.

The "light" could be their coloration or a state of being. That one's up to interpretation right now.

This could be there for one of many reasons. Some speculate that it has to do with a "classic Burning Crusade" game/realm. It could have to do with a patch, dungeon, raid, or expansion focusing on the Light. It could have something to do with the Dragon Isles. For now, we have no idea

3 hints to surviving MMO-C forums:
1.) If you have an opinion, someone will say that it is wrong
2.) If you have a source, there will be people who refuse to believe it
3.) If you use logic, it will be largely ignored
btw: Spires of Arak = Arakkoa.

I say partial light/void expansion is being set up for 11.

Shadowlands and 10 is going to set it up in the back ground.

Actually - WoD got leaked a bit before the official reveal, but no one believed it because it was basically summed up as "Garrosh does go back in time and forms a new horde with his daddy to invade azeroth lul timey wimey wubbi dubbi". Besides that, Pandaria, Zandalar, Kul'Tiras, Nazjatar and Ny'alotha all were guessed to become expansions down the line, and at the end of BfA we had quite a lot Shadowlands speculation going on ^^
