is the daily instance cap for wow classic only?

not having thought about it since it was announced (not sure I was playing at the time) I just recalled reading about it and upon searching all I could find was announcements for daily caps on wow classic. so ...is there not going to be a daily cap for retail come shadowlands? without pathfinder I'm primarily planning on running older content until flying is released. thanks for any and all help!

With all due respect, why are you buying Shadowlands if you're going to be farming old content until Pathfinder? I'm not criticizing, and I'm certainly not telling you what to do with your money either, but I am genuinely curious I mean, I kinda get it, but at the same time, the allure of shiny new things would just be too much to keep me away.
