Yes but one is much, much more evil than the other. Also the supporters of one of those parties (its the GOP!) will openly tolerate incompetence if that party's POTUS candidate is a loudmouth racist.

    Bad look for Trump's economy.
This is exactly what Pelosi wants. Fuck helping people...she wants to screw them all and hold them hostage until there's a huge 1T bail out for all the Blue states that mismanaged their pension programs for decades....refusing to compromise to a more reasonable number for covid-19 related budget shortfalls.

    FTFY.

Look at Garlands confirmation to US Circuit Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. Smooth confirmation, bipartisan support, based solely on strong qualifications. Miraculously, when nominated to a higher court, literally the same people who already reviewed his qualifications and confirmed him have decided they can't even look at his qualifications in the merits.

There is partisan hackery in both sides, no doubt. That said, one side appears to be interested in bettering the lives of their constituents by instituting policies that help everyone, including their opposition's constituents, while the other side appears to be interested in changing the rules whenever it suits them in order to stay in power and protect the status quo for solely their own constituents, at the expense of everyone else.

This would all be over if Trump didn’t lie... If we are being held hostage, why did Trump lie? Trying to not scare people of a virus, by scaring people of democrats?

Maybe if we had a national response, like every other outbreak, especially with a pandemic response team Trump defunded... none of this would still be happening.

Trump could have been the hero to unite the country, but he chose to lie and threaten to defund NYC instead. Biden would have had no chance... but... let me guess... the real estate mogul was concerned about his hotels and golf courses shutting down?

No, Pelosi wants EIP payments and the expanded unemployment to be tied to relief for businesses, because the Republicans support top down business aid, but not bottom up individual aid, even though individual aid has proven time and time again to do far more for keeping the economy running and recovering from a recession.

It's almost like compromise requires both parties to come to the table and agree on things that they don't want in order to secure the support of the other party.

    Of course it is.

It is literally what you're doing. People were rightly upset about the Republicans changing the rules AGAIN and being hypocrites about the SC pick and you decided to pretend Biden is the hypocrite instead of answering for your and your party's hypocrisy.

Complaining that I'm doing that exact same thing back to you...makes you a ____________.

    I'll give you three guesses.

That would be fair. The Blue states lose billions of dollars in tax revenue propping up all the failing red states.

PS Pension budget shortfalls happen everywhere and they often happen when some GOP dumbfucks take control of a state.

Rationalize? How is NY failing, when it sends so much fucking money to middle America, through federal government? It seems like they are doing great, considering people like Trump rip them off to gain political favor in places their policy failed.

Democrats want support for workers, Trump refuses until corporations have no liability due to covid. We don’t trade workers rights, for needed support of the working class. This isn’t a trade...

Your party threw away the rules. You don't get to be pissy when the other party doesn't play by the rules you guys threw out.

Politics should be a verbal fight. You guys brought knives and then cry if we bring baseball bats. You all escalated because we elected a black guy.

Rockefeller Institute, part of SUNY, found that over four years, 2015 to 2018, New York taxpayers paid $116 billion more in federal taxes than the state received in federal funding. During the same period, Kentucky received $148 billion in federal funds more than Kentuckians paid in federal taxes.

While ignoring a shit ton of things they do, that are far worse. It’s like admitting you took a cookie, while you rob the bank.

Democrats in the Senate blocked the "skinny bill" which included $300 weekly enhanced unemployment benefits. This amount is a $100 increase above the $200 that was originally included in the HEALS Act.

Some states are very good at funding their pensions (New York, Tennessee), a lot aren't. Actually I'm pretty impressed that New York's pension is well funded given that it has to prop up shitty states like Tennessee (who at least manage to do pensions well).

New Jersey, Kentucky and Illinois are all tripping over their dicks. All of them have had GOP governors in recent memory.

Underfunding pensions is highly regrettable but not fixing them is a disaster.

Democrats passed 3.4T in the House. Republicans couldn't get 1T through the Senate. Democrats offered to come down to 2.2T. Republicans went up to 1.1T, which didn't pass. They then went up to 1.5T, which also didn't pass.

Maybe Republicans should meet Democrats in the middle, where Democrats have already been standing for weeks?

Apparently you misunderstood. I specifically asked for a citation regarding the assertion that pension shortfalls often happen as a result of Republicans taking control of a state.

How much of that 2.2T was related to state bailouts and non-covid related causes?
